“Michigan best hotel”
The Baronette Renaissance was an extremely pleasant stay. The staff was pleasant, the hotel and room was extremly clean. It was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at.
“Very upscale treatment”
Even though I got a dirt cheap "grand opening" rate for my room, I was treated as a 5 star guest. One day it was pouring rain. The front desk staff noticed I didn't have an umbrella and went in the back room and got me a brand new one...no charge...didn't ask for it back (I left it in the room). The restaurant was top notched with very personable, but non-intrusive staff. The one thing they should rethink is charging for internet...especially $10 per day. Getting this free is getting more commonplace. I was in town for my daughters wedding and staying at the Baronette gave a stressed out Mother of the Bride a respite from the insanity of wedding preparation.
“Friendly and lovely atmosphere”
Stayed at the hotel for a whole 2 weeks, so really got to experience it and all it had to offer. The staff were always incredibly friendly and helpful, and got to know our faces while we were there. It felt small enough to be personable, but not so small that you felt you didn't have privacy. Our room had everything we needed, lots of power sockets all over the place, the king size bed was incredibly comfortable, room service was quick and courteous, and very tasty. The adjoining restaurant was very impressive. Occasionally housekeeping didn't do a full clean and restocking of the room/bathroom, but it was never a real problem. The location is slightly out of the way, but is right next to a huge mall that has most of what you would need, and plenty of places to get all sorts of food at all price ranges. You really do need a car if you are going to be visiting there, so not ideal for those wanting to walk to nearby attractions, and public transport is limited. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.
“Happy hour was not free”
They served wine and beer at Happy Hour, but they charged me later. There was no price list
“"Green Hotel" alert”
When you enter your room you must insert your key-card in a wall-slot to turn on the power. Remove it when leaving and everything shuts down in 30 seconds. The desk told me "all the Europian hotels" have this energy saving system. The toilets flush with minimal water, there's no fan in the bathroom and the energy saving bulbs are romantic, but don't try working or reading. I set the AC at 72 degrees but woke up at 3 AM sweating in a 78 degree room. Euro-greenies, enjoy the Baronette-Novi.
“Very loud heating and air conditioning unit.”
Very noisey HVAC system , could not sleep. At check out they asked how my stay was, I responded with the aformentioned and thier reply was the HVAC oh! Yes the heating and cooling system is very noisey! (no response back) as to not really care!
“NO smoking NO KIDDING”
The Baronette is has comfortable beds and a nice walk in shower. However the OLD style heating and cooling system filled my room with dust every day. Also when they say no smoking " its listed on the web page, but no one tells you" they mean no smoking. At check out I was fined $250.00 dollares with no waring and not one sign posted in my room or web page about the fine. Dollar rental car had it clearly posted in the car and I did not smoke in side the Charger I rented from them.
