“Great hotel and can't beat the location!”
Birmingham is such a cute town with great shops, restaurants, parks and housing. The Townsend is the only local hotel and puts you right in the middle of it all.
“Unique and beautiful setting”
We enjoyed our stay at the Townsend hotel tremendously. Service was fantastic. Not your run-of-the mill chain hotel. Truly unique. We did have one problem the first night. Turns out our room was directly over the bar. The sound of the band was annoying and kept my husband awake until 2:00 a.m. The hotel staff helped us move to another room the next day.....so we ended up with a nicer room for the same price.
“best nights sleep in a hotel ever....awesome bed...”
very comfy, exclusive hotel, great location
“Boutique hotel with 5 star service”
We were warmly greated by both the front desk and the concierge. All of the staff that helped us went above and beyond what we asked. We will be staying there everytime we visit Burmingham. Thank you. The Dennisons
“Great place to stay”
The Townsend was a great place for our anniversary get away. Staff was super friendly. Location is perfect for enjoying downtown Birmingham.
“Like”
One of my favorite hotels. I enjoy the size of it and the staff is consistently professional and friendly.
“Overnight Stay”
I enjoyed the stay, the staff was pleasant, the room was clean, and I felt welcome.
“Nice hotel, great location, would return again”
The hotel is very nice and within walking distance to hundreds of shops. Street parking is easy and safe. The front desk staff were very nice. The streets around the hotel are a bit loud but worth the trade off given it's location. The suites are nice and have a small balcony you can go out on to grab some fresh air or a cigar. My only complaint is that we could hear the overnight cleaning crew moving chairs in the lobby restaurant as our room on the second floor. Again, no big deal. The suite was very nice size and had nice furnishings. Nice minibar. Rooms look like Ritz Carlton rooms. Free coffee in the lobby every morning. We had a nice experience. This hotel is not the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons, but was very charming. I would stay there again. Despite other reviews, we found the beds very comfortable and, the hotel very nice and we have stayed in top hotels throughout the world. I think the hotel is slightly overpriced but it is a boutique hotel that is considered tops in the Detroit metro area.
“Bathroom Flooded”
Had a flood in our hotel room when the toliet was flushed to get rid of toliet paper that was left in the room from previous guests. Called down to the front desk and had a maintenance man come to the room immediately. We had to transfer all our luggage and belongs to another room on the same floor. Never heard from the manager or the front desk in regards to our inconvenience.
“Townsend”
The experience would have been better for us if the fire alarm did not go off at 3:45 am. In addition, a maid entered our room without knocking, well before our check out time. The hotel itself is very nice and in a great area with a lot to do!
