“Excellent Hotel and Service”
It was probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast buffet was unbelievable. Amazing selection with great service. Location was ideal as it was adjacent to a shopping center and in the middle of a happening place in Dhaka. Gym and swimming pool was great as well with amazing views of the city. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.
“Recommended”
I have found my room to be spacious and the facilities inside the room to be more than adequate. Importantly, the central air conditioning system worked seamlessly throughout my stay: I did not even notice any momentary disruption in power supply which is endemic in Bangladesh. The customer service was sophisticated and the food there was simply delicious. The high levels of security inside the hotel were reassuring. Cleanliness inside the room was adequate but felt that it did not match the high standards observed at 4/5 star hotels in Europe or America. For example, despite my requests to clean my room twice, I still found small bits of food crumbs lying on the carpet. Similarly, although the marble bathroom was nice, I did not feel it was as clean as it should have been. Perhaps this is symptomatic of the poor level of hygiene generally observed in Bangladesh. Westin is undoubtedly the most expensive place to stay in Bangladesh. As a result, the prices for everything inside the hotel were exceptionally high. For example, a half a can of beer costing about £8.00 is a little hard to justify, especially in the context of one of poorest nations in the world. Having said all that, overall I enjoyed my stay at Westin and would definitely go back there again.
