“Not Bad”
The hotel had very helpful staff. The rooms weren't the best but they did as somewhere to lay your head at night. Excellent location and would go back again.
“Basic hotel, but superb location”
Unprepossessing exterior: hotel located above Italian restaurant with single door at ground level leading to steep stairs. Our room was fairly basic and a little cramped, but clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast adequate but not exciting. The big plus is the location: just south of the river Liffey in the Temple Bar area. All the major tourist attractions are within reasonable walking distance: the Guinness Storehouse and Jamesons Distillery to the west, and Trinity College and O'Connell Street to the east. A considerable number of bars and restaurants are within a few hundred yards, ranging from noisy tourist traps with live music to relatively quiet backstreet premises.
“Basic comfort”
That is not exactly Ritz, but at that price room had enough space, and its bathroom ( shower unit only, ) was suprisingly spacious. A bit creaky , but that was one of the best budget hotel I ever stayed. But don't touch their continental breakfast, you have to cough up 5 euro for that !
“Great Location and Great Price! Don't expect a Resort Though”
This Hotel is a quaint and small old building 'remodeled' and converted inot a hotel. The rooms are very small and dated, but the beauty is that it couldn't have been located in a better area. Its in the lively and desirable Temple Bar area across from the Liffey River Ha'penny Bridge, and a short distance(all walking) to many Bus Lines, National Museums, Post Offices, Guinness Brewery, the O'Connell Street Grafton Street and City Center shopping districts. The hotel does serve a continental Breakfast and is conveniently staffed 24 Hours. It is not handicap friendly and there are many rickety stairs to climb. If you think of this place as a base camp to store your things, have a nap and a shower, then the somewhat spartan conditions really don't matter because it is so well situated. I definitely would stay here again.
“it's a bed”
there's a place to sleep, a bathroom, a locking door, a non-working television and some 20 year old carpet. No bugs, no colorful characters hanging around and there are lots of places to eat nearby. Like a rickety old house near campus, I felt like I was back in college. If you need a place to stay in Dublin, this will do.
“Great for partiers!”
Hotel is great for those that want to be in the heart of the Temple Bar area and all the action! and very affordable. Literally within the heart of it all, bars, restaurants, the town center and buses and the visitor center. Not a great place for those who want luxury or quietness as it is an older hotel with steep stairs no lifts and can be very noisy at night. Still I would stay ther again, thanks
“best location”
this hotel is in a brilliant location close to temple bar which is full of reastaurants and souvenir shops, easy access to buses and city tours. be prepared to carry your luggage up some stairs. there was a problem with the toilet but that didnt phase me they fixed it the next morning. Probably not the hotel for high class people but for budget travellers this is the place to stay
“Do not stay here...unless...”
...you want to walk up 3 flights of stairs with your luggage, and if you are prone to being woken up at night during the middle of the night because of the street noise, forget it. Go somewhere else, to get a comfortable night's sleep. Showers were so small that you couldn't bend over if you dropped your soap. Also, the whole building is at a "slant". If you put the toilet seat up, you had to balance it so it would stay up. My arms still hurt from lugging my baggage up the flights of stairs.
“Don't stay here”
The sheets smelled like cigarette smoke, there were holes in them, the bathroom was dirty, hairs were everywhere, and you have to turn in the key at the front desk when you leave and pray that when you come back, nobody has locked the door to keep you out.
“Ok for a Budget Hotel”
We arrived at the hotel and it was a bit of a problem getting in. You have to go up quite a few stairs but there is no way of the receptionist knowing that you're wanting to come in. This happened a few times. We were given the key to our first room, it had the most putrid smell so we have to move roooms. The second room was much nicer, it seemed clean and tidy. Location is very good, thats the best thing about this hotel
