“Excellent Tourist Hotel”
This is a lovely little hotel just a few minutes walk from the beach. Has it's own pool which is well kept and has a good poolside bar. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Seem fluent in many major languages, including English. Bus stop for service to Old City only 2 minutes walk away. Journey takes 10 to 15 minutes. Rooms are basic but are clean and fine for average tourist use. Bathroom was quite small and air conditioning was average. Nonetheless, I have no problem in recommending this hotel.
“Had a realy good time”
Hotel very clean, staff friendly. Good breakfast plenty of choice. Room comfortable, furnished well and enough space. Had balcony on side of hotel 2nd floor had view of lots of foliage and could just about see the sea. Good area for eating out and getting about, on number 4 bus route to Old Town which run quite frequently. Would recomend the Bistro towards the end of the walkway and Ivan to left of walkway for trips. Did boat trip to 3 Islands with fish picnic and coach trip into Bosnia and Montinegro coach driver Mario was a delight and very helpful but take euros if you do the coach trips. We were pleased we went on this holiday had a great time lovely people and beautiful contries. Good value.
“A Quiet Oasis”
A pleasant surprise, very friendly and informative reception.Go for a room on the third floor so you have a view across Lapad Bay,watch the liners sail by in the sunset from your balcony.Dubrovnik walls are a must as is a three island boat tour.Research the restaurants before you sit down, quite a variation in price for the same thing. The Arsenal Restaurant in the harbour looks expensive but it's not, best meal we had all week, also some excellent Italian ones good value for money.
“A very pleasant stay in a lovely area of Dubrovnik”
This hotel is not close to the ferry or the main part of new Dubrovnik. Nevertheless it was well worth the cab ride to be able to stay in such a lovely area and a nice hotel. My only problem with the stay was that we were not able to access the free WIFI in our room. It was necessary to sit in the lobby to do so. That aside the room was great as was the complimentary breakfast. The ocean view from our window at no additional cost was stunning! The name of the hotel at first put us off, conjuring up images of the old iron curtain days but the reality was nothing like that. maybe they should think about a name change!
“Excellent Dubrovnic Base”
A perfect base for a holiday that takes in the old city, beach, harbour and boat trips....we thought it wonderful. The Komodor is an older style hotel on three stories but extremely clean and very well located. The sea veiw rooms with balcony on the third (top) floor have the best veiw though ours on the second was fine with a big king bed. Rooms on the first floor front are poolside and might be nice for families. A walk through the park brings you to the small harbour and beach in 5 mins with a small strip of bars/restaurants. 15 mins walk to the main port of Gruz with a market and some very good cheap cafes. Boat trips and ferries to islands along the spectacular coast from both. A bus No4 from the hotel to the old town is 80p and takes 15 mins. They are very regular and ontime .The hotels next door and accross the road are part of the same group and you can use their facilties as well ie nice for the Beach access which is literally across the road.
“Great place!”
Really nice hotel - perfect location - two minutes form the beach and shops and cafes etc The staff are super friendly and helpful Lovely location and graet staff - couldn't ask for more considering it's three star! Would recommend it without a doubt!
“Very good value for money”
Very good basic 3 star accommodation. Room was spotless. Hotel staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Great location overlooking sea. Bus stop into Old City just metres away - service is regular and tends to be busy. Tickets can be bought at hotel reception (cheaper than buying on bus itself). For the price, this is a great hotel.
“Hotel Komodor”
Hotel was a bit further out of the "centre" than I'd thought it was, but not really a problem as there's a bus service that goes passed every 20 mins. Hotel itself was nice enough, clean and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. No entertainment on an evening in the hotel, but there is a bar.
“Fantastic hotel and staff”
Very friendly staff - front desk, restaurant and cleaning service. The front desk kindly help arrange day trips, taxi's and even arranged to have a bagged breakfast the morning we left (early, early). Most pleasant experience - they also had a very cute white fluffy kitty to greet us and say goodbye as we came in and out. Sunday night there was live entertainment while we had dinner and also again on Wednesday evening (although we walked along the beach to a very nice restaurant overlooking the sea that night).
“good value 'homely' hotel”
Very pleasant experience. Outside of hotel in desperate need of a coat of paint/stone cleaning, but once inside it doesn't matter as its very welcoming and homely with carpets and marble floors/surfaces kept spotlessly clean. Very close to beaches, shops, bars and restaurants and on the main bus route into the old town. Well worth paying the bit extra for the sea view/balcony room which overlook the park accross the road also. Nice little pool with sun terrace. All staff very friendly and accomodating-nothing too much trouble. Breakfast a bit basic, but plenty of choice and room service meals are excellent. Would definately stay there again if returning to Dubrovnik. Recommend to anyone not looking for 'luxury', just comfort.
