“Good value for money”
Hotel is basic but good. It's not central, but it is possible to walk there from the hotel. English breakfast from 8am-9am. Good value for money. Useful to know: In order to turn on the shower one has to flip a red switch in front of the bathroom.
“Great Guest House convenient to downtown Edinburgh”
I booked the Ben Doran Guest House based on reviews and was not disappointed. Parking was free and the bus stop directly across the street. Our host, Joseph, was very pleasant and accommodating. If we go back to Edinburgh I would stay here again without hesitation. Very Pleased.
“Right at Home”
The Ben Doran was a delight, an Scottish Manor home converted, reminded more of a B&B in California wine country. The room was cozy with personality, sitting area, and immaculate. The breakfast was a nice assortment of hot and cold items and the service superb. The manager at the Inn was Charming, helpful and very accomodating. The Inn is about two miles from the Royal Mile, with a bus stop directly across the street which runs often, which we enjoy being away from the noise of the tour district but couold reach it easily. Would definetely stay there again without hesitation.

“nice hotel”
This was a nice little hotel, located near bus stops though it's only about a 15 minute walk to the typical vacay destinations: travel center, edinburgh castle, holyrood park/palace, monuments, museums, pubs, currency exchanges, waverly train station, etc. great location! Rooms are small but suitable for those who spend the day out and about and just need somewhere to sleep.
“Lovely hotel”
Hotel Staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very nice. Hotel room is neat, tidy and cozy. The hotel is a bit far from city centre, but there's direct bus- Route 3 directly goes to Princes Street.
“Very impressed”
The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast included with the room was fantastic and delicious. The location was great because there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel so it made it very easy for transportation. A note to the wise, if you travel to Edinburgh in September, bring a warm jacket - it is very cold and windy! Lots to see and do. Great place to visit.

A traditional B&B with a good breakast and very attentive staff. For a great casual meal do go to the Nine Bells Pub or Hewitts for a lovely Scottish meal.
