“Fantastic American experience in Mexico!”
This is a great and easy place to book stateside - the staff is very, very fluent in English, too. I go to Ensenada about 4 or 5 times a year from San Diego - and I think I'd stay here again! I have stayed at all the surrounding local hotels and this one is very well maintained. The off street-interior parking feels safe and I didn't fret about my car. The hot tub was fabulous, but it only worked on our first night. Oh - ask at the desk about border FastPass at reception if you are driving back up to the TJ crossing!!! Seriously. I was very impressed that they had availability for Carnival weekend in only a few days before the whole city shuts down to party! Great job all around for El Rey Sol!
“Surprisingly comfortable”
We didn't expect much of a hotel so close to the tourist area, but the room was almost perfect. Everything worked, and the TV had some English channels too. Personnel were all very friendly and helpful. Parking lot did get full but we always managed to get a spot, and it was a safe lot. We walked everywhere, which was very nice. The restaurant El Rey Sol has wonderful food and service, and we were given coupons for free breakfasts there. A truly enjoyable stay.
“Nice hotel with good service”
The hotel was everything that we expected. The continental breakfast felt a little akward because it was inside a pretty fancy restaurant and we felt like we were expected to order a full course meal that their coupon did not cover. So we ended up skipping that, no big deal. Most of the TV channels were in spanish which was a negative for the kids. Everything else was great. The hotel staff were responsive to our needs and we felt like we were not a bother. The location was very close and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and clubs. I would stay there again.
“Charming Ensenada Hotel”
Posada el Rey Sol (Americas Best Value) is a charming hotel located right in the middle of the tourist district, shops and restaurants at hand. The staff speak English, are very helpful, and there is a secured parking area, charming rooms, and a great restaurant across the street.
“Good security. Great restaurant. Will stay again!”
Excellent value with good security for our car full of stuff for a month in Cabo. Two free margaritas at the El Rey restaurant and breakfast voucher. We will stay there each time we pass through Ensenada.
“Goodf hotel in Ensenada”
Nice room, great location, secure parking, wi fi, and they allow pets. My wife and I stay here when driving between San Francisco and Loreto in BCS. Excellent value for money spent in what is essentially a tourist town. Staff is always freindly and helpful. Restaurant is good also, especially the patries.
“Good time in Ensenada”
It was the first time traveling to Mexico & I was very wary of traveling to another country but Hotel staff made me feel right at home. The hotel is situated right in front of tourist shopping area & most everything was conveniently located just few minutes walking distance. The room was quite cozy & Hotel restaurant food was excellent. I must say I was pleasantly surprise with the visit & enjoyed every min of my stay. Only thing that bother me was when maid tried to clean my room at 7am but that was quickly corrected so it just a minor thing. Overall, I will recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Beware on the breakfast, all other great!”
The employees are great! Rodrigo, Fernando, Valeria made us feel at home. The hotel is beautiful, and clean. I couldn't find any dirty spot. The rooms are amazing, very well decorated. It's located in the perfect area. Just a few feet from main street, but far enough from noise. Highly recommended. Hotel offered 'free breakfast' which consisted only in scrambled eggs and some bacon. No coffee, no juice, no ANYTHING else. If you want to order something else, you must paid; and if you don't want the eggs and bacon, the breakfast card you get, gives you a small discount. I don't know who breakfast only eggs and bacon... They gave us a pass to avoid the long line at the Mexico-USA border. ASK what line is the one to use the pass, if you don't know, We didn't know and made the long line. :( Overall, it was a great experience.
“Decent place for the price”
I stayed here for a short weekend w/ my boyfriend. The place has interior parking, which was safe. We booked this place for the location and it's a few blocks form the beach and the main street w/ restaurants and bars. We liked this place because it came w/ free breakfast every morning and a margarita upon arrival. We didn't get any breakfast coupons untill the day we checked out, and that's only because we asked at the front desk at check out, which was disapointing. The one breakfast we did have was pretty good. You are sent to their restaurant and you are given a few items to choose from. They offered more than you normal carbs only breakfast, and included eggs, which was good. But the food was the only thing included, you have to pay for water or coffee, not bad though. Also, we never received our free margaritas, which kinda sucked. Anyways, not bad considering the price and location.
“An Ok stay”
Nothing too special about this place, but convenient and close to la zona touristica. Good for people on a budget.
