“Execelent hotel”
Room was very comfortable

Very good swimming and spa facilities and a good carvery lunch on sundays. Not the best location in the world but a really good hotel.
“Very nice place to stay.”
Only stayed there one night to get on the ferry next day in Harwich, but it was very nice. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly.
“Would return, much better than another nearby motel”
Very quiet and comfortable, except for fire alarm going off at 0600. Excellent breakfast buffet but very expensive. Took 20mins to check out, night porter didn't seem to know how to run computer. I think the fire`alarm threw him off. Also, receptionist on arrival not very welcoming; I had arrived at 11.15am after overnight trans-atlantic flight and she initally told me I could not check in until 2pm.

“Relaxing Break at the Marks Tey Hotel”
We arrived at the hotel around 2pm in the afternoon, was checked in right away, and to a room of our choice, in a nice quiet part of the hotel and on the first floor. We had room service during the afternoon, excellent. Room was very nice and cosy, bathroom was modern and spotless. In the evening we ate in the hotel restaurant al a carte menu, food was excellent and would definately recommend, and go back again. There are leisure facilities if required, i.e. swimming pool. We enjoyed our relaxing break and would definately recommend to others.

Reasonable room and food. Evening meals fair and breakfast good. Could put a jug of coffee on the table at breakfast.
“Good facilities at Marks Tey Hotel”
This is a good hotel to stay in, with a well-equipped gym, sauna, swimming pool and tennis court; and free wi-fi in the rooms. We were a bit disappointed to learn that there is now a charge for late checkouts: £15 up to 2pm; and £30 after 2pm. Bar and restaurant facilities are fine, without being overly grand. My wife and I have enjoyed several refreshing and reviving stays at this hotel.
“A bit dated”
The Marks Tey Hotel is comfortable enough, and the service is friendly, but I just wish that they'd take some time to update it a bit. The decor in the rooms is quite dated. I stayed here about twenty years ago, and it still seems to be much the same, except that now there is a flat-screen tv on the wall, which seems to be the only concession to the modern age. Come on guys, get the paintbrush out and give the place a new look!
“Decent Hotel but that's it”
The Hotel was OK fairly average, the rooms were small and in need of an update. Hotel facilities were OK and the staff very friendly. A typical English Hotel in need of modernization
