“A good hotel”
Very pleasant staff. Excellent food. Mattress somewhat worn. Overall a good hotel for a weekemd break.
“Great Stay At The Westcliff”
We had an excellent stay in a 4 poster room at the Westciff Hotel. Location is very convienent for the theatre. Our room was very clean and had been refurbished some time previously, plus it had a great view of the seafront. Parking is a bit of an issue as it is 'on street' parking, but with a little patience a space opened up and there were no problems. Some of the public areas of the hotel need to be refurbished but there was maintenance activity during our stay. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Didn't use the hotel restaurant in the evening, but we did notice the dinner menu was limited. The breakfast was very good and everything well cooked and tasty. Overall a very good stay and will return to the Westcliff in the future.
“good and bad”
The staff were inviting and helpful during my stay there recently. I paid for a single and got a double, but had no view from window as the window was glazed and patterned so you couldn't look out of it, also when I did open the window it faced the roof of another building. It was very noisy as kept hearing water running out of the pipes on the roof and a strange buzzing sound. The carpet hadn't been hoovered before or during my stay as there were bits on the carpet and the bathroom floor wasn't clean. My cup was dirty to start with so ended up washing the cup myself before drinking from it. Overall the hotel was in a good location and didn't spend alot of time in the hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of pillows supplied.
“Useful location for Cliffs Pavilion”
Great location, good breakfast - what more do you want? Well, the bar service was very slow - so something to work on...
“Dated”
Lovely period hotel and good food. Rooms very dated and no proper shower. Shower came out like watering can. Desperately needs updating. Parking difficult.
