“Would stay again”

Great spot. Quiet, nice room, good people at desk, adequate breakfast.

My son, daughter and I were in Humboldt County to take care of my other daughter's affairs after she passed away. We chose Super 8 because of location and it was reasonably priced. We were very pleased with the rooms and friendly staff. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the internet connections were important to us. We stayed five nights, and we will stay at Super 8 in Arcata on our next visit.

“Close to Humboldt State Univ.”

This isn't a luxury hotel by any means but it fit our needs for the one night we were staying in the area. It's our 2nd time staying there. It's clean, quiet & close to Humboldt State Univ. where we visited for Parent Weekend. There's a McDonald's next door & other restaurants close if you choose to not eat the hotel's cold cereal, danish or English muffin. Though I didn't bring mine, I noticed this was a pet friendly hotel.

“Arcata Super 8”

Room was larger than most I have stayed in. Carpet was clean and appeared to be fairly new. Bed was the king size model and was very comfy. Room and bathroom were very clean. Even though this motel was next to the freeway there was no traffic noise even with the window open. I had read several negative reviews on this motel so I was very observant for flaws. I found none. I would stay here again. Across the street from the motel are restaurants and food stores.

“Good location, comfortable”

The best thing about the hotel was it's location on the north side of Arcata close to the airport and just across the street from a convenient plaza. It was easy to get back & forth to Eureka, etc. The room was comfortable and the hotel was quiet. I appreciated the coffee in the room because the pots were always out at the front office area!

“An Expedia two star. About right.”

It is basic. Pluses: 1) Coffee anytime (not really good coffee mind you.) 2) TV has around 80 channels. 3) Maids do a decent job with what they have. 4) has small refrigerator. 5) "Continental breakfast" consisting of really sweet danishes and/or two choices of cold cereal. 6) Relatively less noise than I suspected. Negs: 1) very little landscape maintenance. I had a sinking feeling when I arrived, so, the hotel surpassed my initial expectation from that first impression; 2) In my opinion, it is quite overpriced, but they were turning people away, so, it really is what the market will bear and I can't complain.

“good value”

Check-in and check-out were efficient and friendly. The room was a bit musty-smelling but everything worked and the beds were comfortable. This is a really good room for the money.

The staff was cordial and helpful. The point I liked is that the staff could suggest where to visit based on how we wanted to enjoy.

Good value for the price. Clean enough, good location for HSU parents. Great coffee accross the street.
