“Incredible place to stay!!!”
Pousada dos Loios is a magic place to spend a night. A best location in town, we stopped the car there and walk around all the town. It was a wonderful experience for me, my wife and my three years old daughter.
“Excellent Location!”
This Pousada was in an excellent location, and the staff were very helpful. The only negative comment I have is that we requested a double bed, and they only had twins available in a room that was near the breakfast area and somewhat noisy.
“Well worth a stop on a driving tour”
The hotel staff was very helpful at check-in and provided excellent help with parking. The rooms were comfortable and some of us appreciated the pool after a hot day. The restaurant was unremarkable and pricy. This hotel was one of our favorites, possibly because of its charm and history.
“An excellent hotel and location”
Beautiful hotel right in the middle of the town on the highest spot near the Roman temple. Lovely old monastery, beautifully kept with an excellent and helpful staff. Breakfast wonderful - and it's all central to everything in this charming town. You can park your car and walk everywhere. The room was comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. If you don't want to eat at the hotel, there are plenty of good restaurants around.
“Evora is a great city, very beautiful !!!”
Evora is a great city worth visiting. Especially if you plan to drive from Lisbon to Spain. Pousada de Evora - Loios is a very beautiful hotel, an old monastery, conveniently located close to the cathedral and in front of one of the most enchanting Roman theatres. Service and food are good. Rooms are very clean but too small for a five star hotel.
“Not quite as expected”
This pousada is rated as one of the 1000 places to see before you die, according to the book. It's not quite up to that, but it deserves more than its two star rating on Expedia also. The building itself in all its public areas is charming, charming, charming. There's a nice pool. The bedrooms are nothing like what's depicted. On the up side, they are converted convent cells, and there's a kick to be had out of that. On the down side, they are small and smell of mildew, painted lime green and decorated with white wooden furniture.
“Charming, but not for everyone”
Perfect location and absolutely charming space. Rooms on the smaller site as one would expect from a heritage property, but unfortunately they are also very loud with echoing from the hallways which there is little that they can do to correct. A very pleasant overnight stay.
“Old World Experience”
Pousada de Evora is located in the old walled city. It is in a great location for walking and dining.
“Nice Hotel”
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is right in the heart of Evora, housed in a former monastery. The room was very nice, with antique furniture. The breakfast buffet was very good and appropriately priced. I also had one lunch in the Pousada restaurant, which was very good.
“Pousada Loios”
This pousada is a converted religious facility. The rooms are the old cells which means they are quite small. The hotel's restaurant smells permeate the entire building the entire day and they are worse at night. The bathrooms, while nice enough, are very small and confining. Ours had no working fan. The internal airconditioning seemed out of date and didn't work very well either. Location is the best part perhaps of this hotel.
