“Traveling with Pets”
One of the few places with a restuarant attached - front desk polite and helpful. Cat and dog liked it fine (for an extra $10/each)
“I'll stay there again”
This motel room was well worth the rate, clean and well taken care of.
“HO JO Stay”
The room was OK for place to stay but first the key did not work and had to get another. Second the door was very hard to open and close. Third on our third night stay when we returned to the room the room was not made up and when we complained to the management they said oops. Fourth the fire alarm started to beep and went off, when we inquired about it they said it was nothing and if it went out again to disconnect it. I would probably find a Motel 6 or Travel lodge on my next stay there as all I need is a clean room and a clean bead to stay. I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless one needed to of a night.
“wrong location”
you simply can't build a hotel near to a rail line where there are trains passing by and honking their horns every half an hour or so, day AND night, making sleeping a real nightmare. otherwise the room was pretty much ok; biggest pro: it has a fridge, although we had to pay a little difference for it, but again: how many high star hotels can bragg about having a fridge in the room?
“ok for last minute”
it was a nice hotel the beds were a little stiff but 3 out of 5 stars
“Least favorite and not impressed”
Unless you don't sleep, this motel isn't recommended. Nearby trains (l00 meters) sound like they are outside the door.Way overpriced for their location and room
“would not go back”
overall stay was terrible. motel fronts main line route of santa fe railroad. during the night as many as 4 trains pass in one hour blowing their whistle. impossible to get any sleep
“Of two minds”
On the one hand, it's the Howard Johnson's in Flagstaff, AZ. On the other hand, it's the Howard Johnson's in Flagstaff, AZ. We never saw anyone working there, other than a brief exchange with the woman who checked us in. Depending on your attitude toward utter neglect, this can be considered a positive or negative experience. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. It should be noted that the windows in the restrooms are frosted glass -- but if you open that window you're basically looking into some guy's back yard. His dog seemed nice, though.
“Very basic low budget option.”
Staff were pleasant and desired to help. The facility is aging and showing it.
“Train noise, lumpy bed, nice spa but cold pool”
The knobs on the A/C spun all the way around, and I didn't know if I was turning on the heat or the A/C. I was very tired from some 14 hours of traveling, and didn't want to try to figure it out. So, it was somewhat cool outside, so I opened the windows. However, the close proximaty of the train tracks was annoying, and about every 15-20 minutes, a train went by. I was feeling a little ill already, but I had a horrible nights' sleep nonetheless. This seems to be the trend at a lot of hotels/motels: only 1 pack of condiments for the coffee. There is enough coffee for 2-3 cups, but why only 1 sugar and 1 creamer for the entire pot of coffee? I asked and was able to get more from the front desk. This motel is on the historic Route 66, and I'm sure that this motel has been here for quite some time. However, the caulking job around the bathtub looked like it was done by a novice. The water kept changing temperatures during my shower. There is a restaurant attached to the motel, which was convenient. Prices were reasonable and the food was pretty good. The spa was in the back, generally secluded from the highway traffic, and was comfortable. It was connected to the pool by a dividing wall, so you could go from the spa to the pool without completely getting out of the water. The pool water was rather cold-I did not go in the pool. (This was early September.) The staff was very polite and courteous. All in all, it wasn't worth what we paid. I think it's worth about half of that.
