“Great Start to 2012”
We stayed in this hotel from 31st December to 4th of January 2012 in a package booked through Expedia. I contacted the hotel in advance for advice on what to do and where to eat on New Years Eve. The information and help I received in advance was superb. Roberto sent me several e-mails with restaurants, web links etc and then booked our chosen restaurant for us in advance of New Years Eve. The service we got was second to none. This continued once we arrived at the hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was done to a high standard and the location is fantastic. My wife and I travel a lot and have seen more than our fair share of hotels of all standards. I would rate this as one of the best for service and friendliness and well above average for condition, upkeep and facilities at this level. We will be going back to Florence and I would definately stay at Laurus al Duomo again.
“Excellent Value for Money”
Behind an uninspiring frontage lies a really nice, well run hotel. We booked at an Expedia Special Deal and it proved fantastic value for money. The hotel is very central but with excellent sound proofing we were never aware of the traffic outside.Nice breakfast room and terrace where you can also enjoy an evening drink. Booked at the right price - a real find.
“First time in a Hotel”
Ever one spoke Engish. The service in the Hotel was very good.
“Great hotel, great location”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Laures. Was a great location just down from the Duomo. The breakfast terrace had brilliant views of the Duomo and Florence rooftops. Breakfast was good, free wireless internet access, able to walk to everything. Would certailnly stay there again if lucky enough to be back in Florence.
“Fantastic base to explore Florence”
Hotel Laurus provided us with a fantastic base to explore Florence, within easy walking distance of the main galleries, museums and other attractions, and just a few minutes walk to the train station. The service was excellent, the staff were happy to help with all our questions and even arranged our ticket reservations for the musuems so that we could avoid the queues. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the air-conditioning was a welcome treat in the August heat. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh croissants and cakes, along with a good choice of fruits, cereals, breads and juices. The coffee was delicious, not to mention the amazing view of the Duomo from the roof terrace tables.
“Very good choice of a hotel in Florence”
Very good location. Rooms have been updated. Service for roof restuarant for drinks and breakfast is is good.
“Great location”
This hotel is in a great location. Everyone there was extremely helpful. Be sure to request a garden room, it's one a very busy street and can be loud. We move to a garden room and it was just perfect.
“Very impressed”
This was our first time going "solo" on a holiday to Florence. The hotel was first class: all the staff were friendly and efficient. The barman in the American Bar remembered each night what we drank. Breakfast was typical continental, with the addition of an English style breakfast if required. The room was very comfortable. Recommend Restaurant Nuti for good food, although there were others nearby which were alright. Would highly recommend this hotel.
“Great Location and View from the top”
We couldn't have asked for a better location. Everything was so close and although you were smack downtown, our room was extremely quiet. The room was lovely and the bathroom large. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The view from the rooftop was unbelievable especially at night when the Duomo was all lit up. Our waiter on the rooftop was amazing, friendly and extremely helpful.
“Amazing hotel and location!!”
You will not be disappointed with a stay at this hotel. The location was truly amazing as all local sights and the train station were within a short walking distance. The Duomo was only 2 minutes away and can be seen from the hotel breakfast terrace. With the help of our trusty map we managed to find the hotel easily from the train station and were glad of the warm welcome after a long day of travelling. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly and the room itself was spotless and in excellent condition. The bathroom was polished and cleaned each day and all the bedding was replaced every morning with chocolates left on the pillows! We have recommended the hotel to my parents who are now looking forward to booking their stay in Florence at the Vivahotel Laurus Al Duomo! Enjoy your stay - this is not a hotel to be missed!
