The hotel is very clean and staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is a good 40 minutes walk from the centre of Florence, but it is a pleasant walk along the river. You can also get the number 14 bus, where the bus stop is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel and takes you to the centre of Florence. You can also get the bus back from the centre of Florence.

“Great Hotel”

This hotel was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and really helpfull. Although it is quite a long walk from the Station and main town (although would be ok without luggage and if you wasn't in a rush)it's easy enough to get a taxi into the town and not expensive. The Hotel will order you a taxi and it'll be there in a few minutes. Just behind the hotel there is a high street of lots of restaurants and a bar. I only stayed for 3 days and I guess that the rooms are quite small if 3 people were staying there-but the rooms are still nice and quite spaceous for 2 people. Overall this hotel is great and I would stay there again if I went back to Firenze.

“Terrific 3 Star Hotel”

The Grifone was in a very quiet neighborhood, with very adequate emmenities for a stay in Italy when you don't want to pay the high prices to stay in the City. The bus line was one short block away and took you directly to the City - very convenient. We found the neighborhood delightful - some nice local stores and one of the BEST restaurants we ate at during our entire 7-day stay in Italy (3 of them were at the Grifone). The front desk staff was always very knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was very good and an excellent selection! And, I'm particular about food! Only negative - there was no milk for the cereal that my husband likes in the a.m. - only yogurt. The waite staff in the breakfast room was very attentive too!! Just remember this is a 3 Star Hotel - not a 4 so there aren't alot of frills but it is VERY VERY nice and clean. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

“out of the way, but easy to get to”

Fair sized room, with comfortable bathroom. Friendly front desk staff. Two computers in basement with internet. Decided to stay a second night, and it was no problem. The hotel is fairly far from downtown Florence, but easy to get to by bus. You need to take the #14 bus (we took it from outside the Duomo (north side (between Via Ricasoli and Via dei Servi) to Via Giovanni (get off near Via pilati (before the bus turns again). Go north on Via Pilati and hotel is on right hand side just before next street.

“Clean and comfy”

If you don't fancy being right in the middle of the hussle and bussle of Florence but want to be close enough to take a leisurely stoll down by the River Arno to all the major attactions this is the place to stay. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the rooms spacious. Not close enough to walk from the Firenze SMN but you should be able to get a taxi for under 20 euros. Overall great value for money.

Nice hotel but not very closed to city center, although there is bus travel between the hotel and downtown.

It was a nice clean hotel, went on honeymoon and would have prefered a nicer room, as it seemed that we had the smallest one in the building, but I suppose thats the luck of the draw. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, recommended a few good places to see and some to eat. All in all, the hotel was everything it said it would be.

The hotel was ok, might not be worth of so many Euros. Its connected well to the city (might be around 15 mins to heart of downtown).

The concierge was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, that's where I have to stop in my compliments. The room was very small. This effect was accentuated by the slanted ceiling and the lack of a bathtub. I felt really squished. The location wasn't the greatest, but Florence is a small city, so we could easily catch the bus to the center of town. In the future I would search for more value for my money.
