“Great place to stay in Nevada City”
Quiet, clean rooms. Quaint parklike setting. Well-maintained property. If you are worried about finding healthy dining options in a small town, rest assured. Across the street at Fudenjus you will find vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore choices. Great little coffee, juice, ricebowl, wrap place.
“A Nice Get A Way”
We were at first a bit disappointed that the Inn was not right downtown, but it all worked out nicely. We had an easy cab ride into town-would have walked, but pouring rain... Had a very nice walk back after dinner. Clean and room for the bikes.
“beautiful surroundings quiet”
beautiful surroundings , quiet and enjoyable
“Good price, a bit removed from downtown”
It's a well-kept motel like place. Cabins nearby come at a higher price. They look quite inviting. My room was very clean. Luckily I had quiet neighbors, but the room itself wasn't soundproof, so you could hear some activity in adjoining rooms. Overall a good place to stay at a very reasonable price.
“Just fine”
Our room was rustic but clean, the grounds lovely for having breakfast. The place is within walking distance to town and the price is right.
“In the woods but close to town”
It was pleasant. Old but clean. The cottage was comfortable enough. My husband was not comfortable on the mattress, I was fine. Our son in another room, complained of noisy smokers outside until late hours.
“ok with dogs”
we were travelling with 2 dogs, we were looking for a hotel which allows dogs. Nevada City Inn does. It's ok for a night or two. The "dog" rooms are very old and look very broke in.
“Expensive for what you get”
The Inn is located just too far away from Nevada City centre to walk, its more like a hike. The accomodation is motel lodge style with several "cabins" across from the (mostly) single story block. It has a grassed area that's good for dog walking and some nice large pine tees. Although its not the "park atmosphere" suggested by the web site. However the location is probably very good considering how popular Nevada City appeared to be. The price must be based on location rather than the quality of the motel itself. Although it is a perfectly good low end lodge style motel.
“Stinky Room”
The hotel is old, which normally is not a problem for us, especially if we are visiting a city like Nevada City. But that room smelled really bad, so bad, we had to go out and buy a car deodarizer just to spend the night there. We asked for another room and had no luck changing rooms. The people upstairs kept my husband up until 3am just by walking across the floor. Over all, it was not a good experience.
“I wouldn't stay here if it was for vacation”
At the time of check-in, which was around 5:00pm, no person was available at the front desk. I used the nearby phone to page for front desk service and waited for about 10 minutes till a employee arrived. The refrigerator in room didn't work, the mattress was older than me and the room needed to be remodeled. Out of all the possible locations to stay in Nevada City, this was a poor choice for a business trip or pleasure. The wi-fi didn't work most of the time and when the internet was working it was at dial-up speed. Also, I would have appreciated the continental breakfast being laid out earlier than 7:00am.
