“Definately Top Notch Hotel”
Service was amazing, the hotel was beautiful with so many different types of restauraunts and the waterfall from the pogoda and bridges and ponds fill ed with huge Koy were an enjoyment to see everytime you arrived. The buffet restauraunt by the river was scenic also. Security was really good on every floor all connected together. The area around the hotel was catered to tourists.
“A very nice place to stay in Guangzhou”
This is a nice place to stay for a special treat if you are travelling with your spouse. Elegant and relaxed. Very nice facilities and restuarants. Nicely set up for your comfort. A lot of people adopting children in China stay here, which can be a little disconcerting to some. But all in all, one of the nicest places I stayed at in Guangdong, and my wife and I enjoyed the break from the hotels we stayed in for business.
“Can't wait to go back”
Overall this hotel is o,k but only too far to go to the airport also is very hard to find a foot massage palace surrounding the hotel. Is better off surrounding the hotel area has a big shopping mall .
“Enjoyed the stay”
The hotel staff were helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable.
“Good hotel”
Good hotel but a couple of thinsg need attention OUr room had a balcony but you cannot or are not allowed to access it, windows bolted. The pool needs attention, looks deteriorated. All else is great including the food on site...good variatey of chinese and western
“Easiest option in Guangzhou”
This hotel is always our choice as they seem to understand European choices better than others in this city of few choices. Not a flashy place but clean quiet and orderly. Good but expensive eve buffet, reccomend oysters and caviar! Business centre can be a bit pedantic. Friendly room staff.
“Good value. Nice hotel”
I recommend it
“Better than I expected”
I've stayed at the White Swan probably dozens of times since 1981. We even stayed there when we adopted our Chinese daughter in 1998. It has been renovated several times over the years and looks good right now. Since the American Consultate moved it has lost some charm. It is "nice" but not great, a bit pricey for what it offers. The neighborhood has declined and it isn't really fun to stroll the streets around the hotel. if you go however, its is worth it to visit one little shop near the former American Consulate owned by a young man named "Dong" who will charm you with his English, tell you tales about saving street cats and dogs and make you tea while you shop. One bad note - we had a very bad experience in the hotel's restaurant. The manager and the receptionist were rude. When we complained, we were met with blank stares.
“Terrible Service”
I requested a room close to the elevator due to mobility problems, I was given a room furtherest from the elevator. I had the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, and house keeping keeps ringing the door bell and phone to ask if I need the room cleaned. I wanted to exchange money into RMB, the hotel did not have sufficient cash to cover the exchange. The bed smelled bad. The none-smoking floor had smokers staying in it. I could go on, but you get the idea.
