“First class hotel”
Hainan has been labeled China's Hawaii, and on a recent business trip to Guangzhou, I decided to spend the weekend in Haikou (about a 1 hr flight from Guangzhou). While Hainan and Haikou does not come close to Hawaii either in beauty or amenities, the Sheraton Haikou Resort, located on Holiday Beach, a 3 mile long beach to the west of Haikou, is a world-class resort. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. with easy access to the beach. The rooms are nicely decorated and have many touches one would expect to find in a luxury boutique hotel (e.g. free standing "designer" bathtub). Good restaurants, and one of the best breakfasts I've had while in China. The spa has a mineral hot spring that's fed from a source 700 meters below the ground.
“Hainan's Little Known Secret”
Sheraton resort Haikou is a surprisingly comfortable, well kept, 5 star accommodation. It's people are friendly, attentive, and make sure your stay is a pleasant one. English is spoken by much of the staff which makes it nice if your Chinese is limited. It has an excellent pool area, beach and more. We will definitely make a return trip.
“Sheraton Haikou”
This was without a doubt one the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. The service was unbelievably good. Most of the staff spoke excellent English and everything was so very clean and so nicely done. I am over 60 years old but this is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are beautiful, very funtional and spacious. Their restaurants offered excellent food choices with great taste at resonable prices. They have beautiful pools and again the service was wonderful and of course the ocean was just steps away.
“Best ever”
This hotel has to be the best ever that I have stayed in, and I travel a lot and have stayed in many of all sorts, shapes and sizes. The spaciousness, the sense of luxury, the excellent food, the cleanliness, the amazing service, the quiet, large and comfortable rooms, make it a place very hard to beat
“beautiful new resort”
The hotel, rooms and grounds are beautiful. Pools and landscaping are breathtaking. The location is very remote. It is a 10-15 minute taxi ride into town. Make sure to get the breakfast buffet included in the price of your room, otherwise you will pay dearly. There are a few restaurants in the hotel. They are all fair and seem to all serve the same food described differently and at different prices. The Breeze restaurant is the least expensive of the reastaurants. The food in Fusion actually tasted like it was leftover from the Breeze. Service in the hotel and restaurants is very good. Internet sevice is very good, gym and game room are nice. Be prepared to stay at the resort for your entire stay if you do not have your own car.
“Nice resort”
Very nice resort with great service. I had a very comfortable stay. There is also hot spring water jacuzzi along the swimming pool. The room I was staying in has an open bathroom and it felt kind of damp. Paths from the garden lead to a beach. LOTS of rubbish there! Definitely not suitable for swimming.
