“Wonderful time at the Waverley Inn”
Fabulous staff - kind and very attentive. Beautiful hotel located centrally. I really enjoyed my stay.
“Quaint and Friendly”
Although the hotel is rich in history and the primary purpose of visit was business, the friendly atmosphere made the visit highly enjoyable.
“I was half a bubble off the entire stay”
Great location and hotel. The staff was very helpful. I would certainly stay there again. This is a lovely old building that was fun to explore. Our room was out of level by several inches, everything rolled out of the bathroom. Suggest you not drink too much if you stay here
“Truly comfortable”
The Waverley Inn far exceeded my expectations. The hotel was beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, and the location perfect. But most of all the room itself was one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in. I have lower back problems and staying in a different place can be an issue. We were at the hotel for six days. The bed we had was firm enough for my husband and soft enough for me. I can't recommend the Waverley enough.
“Love Halifax!”
This was my second stay at the Waverly Inn in Halifax. Halifax is one of my favourite Canadian cities and if you enjoy exploring a location on foot, Halifax is the perfect city for that! The Waverly Inn is very close to the waterfront where we walked daily. The staff at the Inn are fantastic - always making you feel like you are guests in their home. Breakfast was satisfying and very relaxed - no one rushed us out even when we were a little late one day. There is always tea / coffee and sweats available in the reception area, with cozy arm chars to curl up in if you need some quiet time. If you prefer large hotel chains, the Waverly Inn is not the place for you. If you prefer to stay in historic homes that have been converted to a good size Inn - don't miss your chance to stay here. The only drawback was that the walls are thin. If you are staying on the main floor and are a light sleeper, it is likely you will hear indidivuals walking and talking in the hallways as they come in or leave in the mornings. If that is a concern, I recommend you ask for a room on an upper floor. That being said, everything else about the Inn and the beautiful city of Halifax makes this location well worth a visit.
“Interesting Place.”
A very interesting place to stay. The hotel used to be one of the best in town about a century ago. It is no more but still retains a part of its glory in their furnishings and decoration. The stay was cozy and the staff was very helpful, too. I wish the management had paid much more attention to keep the classic look in and out. If this historic building had been kept well, it could have been a nice boutique hotel.
“Perfect Halifax location”
We truly had a wonderful experience at the Waverley - a most helpful and cheerful staff, geat location within walking distance of so much of Halifax, free parking, OK breakfast and an incredible decor. Only one suggestion - request a back room. There is a bar directly across the street which plays music 9pm-2am and it's loud! That's not the Inn's fault and I'm sure they can't change it but if music played late into the night will bother you, make sure to get a back room.
“Old-Fashioned Hospitality - Gorgeous character "B+B" hotel”
Such a beautiful old hotel, filled with antiques, and character. Lots of Stairs - so be aware of that if it's a problem for you. They also lock up at 10:30 so you have to ring a bell to get in after that. The staff is very friendly, and extremely helpful. There's also a nice hot breakfast included in the downstairs diving room every morning. It was easy to walk everywhere.
“History in the making!”
Hotel is historic and very well kept. Room was classically small, and not intended to be a five star stay. Enjoyed the decor and period pieces throughout the hotel. Close to downtown and excellent farmer market. Easy to get around on foot. Blues club across the street was fun! Wife is Celiac, and they were able to help with breakfast items for her. Recommend it to anyone who is looking to gather some historical feel for the area, starting with your hotel!
“Good”
Lovely comfy hotel, rooms well equipped, central location, staff friendly
