“Very clean - great location”

Stayed in a 4 bed room with friends, shower and toilet etc was very clean we were very impressed. Great location walking distance of the main station and underground. The Reeperbahn was fab fun every bar we went into was different with live bands and music all for free. We went to the edge of the Reeperbahn area where a bit studenty and not too seedy but enjoyed having a look round the sex shops (good fun). The fair was also on at the Dome and was great nothing like the fairs we get back here in the UK. Make sure you put a trip to Hamburg on your list. People in Hamburg were very friendly.

“Excellent experience at A & O Hamburg Hauptbahnhof”

The A & O matched our needs perfectly. The six of us were on a limited budget so were expecting no more than the bare minimum but in some respects the A & O was a really pleasant surprise. The staff were all friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English; the room was basic but clean and quiet (with excellent shower/WC), and was ready at 10.30 a.m. on the morning we arrived; the all-you-can eat breakfast for 6 euros was better than several "proper" hotels that we'd stayed in. Although we had to vacate our room by (a very reasonable) 11 a.m., we were able to leave our bags in a secure room (with valuables in a safe behind reception) until the early evening. A very central (if unglamorous) location too, 10 minutes walk from the main railway station. Great value. Highly recommended.

“Clean, secure, no frills at all”

Our room wasn't ready when it was supposed to be, but I appreciated their letting us put our things in the room anyway. The room was extremely clean. It's a hostel, and so there are no frills--no phone in the room, we had to put the sheets on the beds ourselves, etc. For what it is, it's good. It's a little hard to get to by car, but there is parking, which was good for us. Our cab driver one night didn't know how to find it, so if you stay there, make sure you can direct someone to it. About 15 minutes' walk to the Hauptbahnhof.
