“Good Value for Money”
My partner and I went to Hammamet at the end of March and the area of Yasmine Hammamet was a bit too quiet. The hotel was pleasant, nicely decorated and clean. I agree with the lack of traditional food on the buffet and if you have all your meals in the hotel for more than 7 days you'll get bored. Not too keen on Quad Biking and Boat trips, we didn't do any of the activities proposed by the hotel (they do insist a bit so we stayed polite but firm). Armed with a travel guide, we planned our own excursions and probably saved a few pounds.
“Good value for money”
Just returned from 2 weeks all inclusive, overall it was very good value for money and a pleasant trip however, I would agree with the last comment that the reception staff were unhelpful and very slow money exchange (if they had any money at all!), and generally seemed to treat basic requests like we were asking a bit much. That aside, the rooms were well cleaned with sheets and towels changed daily; the decor in the lobby and restaurant is very nice; the bar is cosy; bar and restaurant service is fairly good but most importantly done with a smile; the pool is lovely; the kids who were there seemed to be well entertained by the animation team - although the river dance, executed perfectly by one of the team was dated, cheesy and frankly worrying. The food was hit and miss, but usually good. The salads were very good, as were the spaghetti dishes, the cous cous and the crepes. The traditional food served was delicious although rare. We went on the hotel recommended boat trip, quad biking and camel ride. The boat trip, although not on the advertised boat, was pleasant with nice food served. I wouldn't recommend the quads - as with the previous report we were the only ones there, the guide didn't speak English and although some views were spectaular he only stopped twice so we could take photos - one was a good spot, the other was in what seemed to be a disused miltary training range. The camel ride was very good and interesting and I would recommend it.
“Just O.K.”
My partner & I stayed at this hotel for a week! It was just ok, the room was very basic & didn't offer much comfort. When we arrived the staff at reception were not very helpful which doesn't help after a long day of travelling. The restuarant staff were all very helpful & polite. The food options were ok but basic. The hotel offered a range of trips which we took up the option on two of these 1 was a trip to Tunis/Carthage to see the Roman baths & Museum this was a very nice day out & I would recommend it, the other was a Quad biking trip around the local terrain with a local guide, this was very poor as we were the only poeple on the tour & our guide didn't speak a word of english & to top that all 3 of the bikes broke down which meant we were standing around in the hot sun for a long time waiting for some assistance. I would definately go to Tunisia again but I wouldn't stay at Sandra Club again.
