“Happily Surprised”
Having read some other reviews which put doubt in my mind, I was happily surprised. The Taxi ride from the Airport to Hammammet was hellraising to say the least in an un-airconditioned Taxi (47 degees). However, the Yasmine Beach was a delightful welcome. Huge airconditioned reception and very attentive, obliging staff. The Room was excellent, fantastic sea view! Disappointing though was the Entertainment team-Italian was spoke most of the time.Local wine not to my taste either. Spa very good and cheap! Overall - perfect for 1 week
“Had a great time!”
Stayed at the Yasmine Beach over Easter for 12 days and had a wonderful time.Staff were really friendly, from the people on the front desk who checked us in at 2.00am and had a meal waiting for us to the housekeeping staff! The restaurant staff were great, fun, efficient and very friendly. The wine and beer as part of the "all inclusive" were fine, drinkable and in plentiful supply. Food was good, plenty of choice and quite a lot of variety. North African dishes and European dishes yes, but well cooked and great! Tip the wait staff a few dinars they really appreciate it. The weather wasnt wonderful all the time but the place and the people were fabulous. Met some good tourists as well as the hotel caters for all nationalities. Entertainment daily was OK and yes occasionally in German and French but that really didnt matter. Everyone was having fun. Read some of the reviews on here before we went and we did have some concerns HOWEVER THESE WERE ALL UNFOUNDED. My sister is going back in May so that says it all. Would definitely go again. Not 5 star as in hotels in the states or Dubai, think good 3 or 4 star in Greece, but we had 5 star service!
“Can't wait to go back”
We were so impressed with "Yasmine Beach" hotel, this hotel has its own private beach and so many other facilities, such as (payable) Thalasso, buffet restaurant, 2 pool bars, lush gardens, tennis court, reception bar the list is endless, nightly free entertainment, friendly staff and management. The food was excellent too with so many varied dishes to choose from. We would most definately use this hotel again.
“A 'stay here' hotel”
We stayed there for two nights, for a conference close by. Food was delicious! Staff was very nice! Just next to beach which was deserted since we went in March Rooms were very satisfying
“A Girls' weekend away”
I went with a mate for a five day break - to get away from the families and work... We found everything about the hotel to be excellent. Staff were friendly, food was good, rooms were clean and tidy. Going away at the beginning of February, weather cannot be guaranteed but was warm enough to walk in t-shirt and trousers. We took the trip that another reviewer wrote about (hire a car with driver from the hotel for a day) which turned out to be of good value. The only thing I would say is that Tunisia itself may not be the best place for two women on their own but definetly a place for couples and families. Also, they appear not to see many blonde women, as they were fascinated by my hair, which threw me at times. The pools, indoor and outdoor, are not the biggest but the beach, which looks beautiful, is just across the road and a section is cordoned off just for Yasmine Beach residents.
“Restaurant Blues”
The hotel service was great except for the restaurant service. I told the matrade at the restaurant that I was a diabetic and all of the cereal served had sugar, I requested Corn Flakes or Wheaties. The manager and staff gathered and were pointing at me while I was eating and acted like I had started a war. You may want to ask why I did not like the food, as a traveler to over 50 countries I found the food that I liked there pretty limited. I found a few things that I liked and that sustained me thru my stay. About 80% of the food at the buffet I found to be not to my taste so choices were limited. That is the only slight complaint I had about my stay, most of it was a pleasant experience.
“impressed”
My wife and I had a great week here at the end of October. We had read very mixed reviews but have to say that we were pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the hotel, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff (bar the guy at the beach in charge of the free loungers, who wanted to be tipped every day - we didn't!) and the quality of the food. We started off on half board but switched to all inclusive, which paid for itself for the booze alone (they have their own pretty good micro-brewery and the house wine was very drinkable. It took us a hwile to get used to the buffet style but they had dishes freshly cooked (in front of you) every lunch and dinner. One word of warning don't bother with the a la carte you are allowed once a week - they mean well but it was terrible. One other bit of advice; find a way to tip early on in your stay and you will be looked after like royalty!
“Really average”
It's not bad, but not great either. It's not a 5 star hotel by international standards - more like 3 star at best. I found the hotel staff, in particular those working in the restaurant, to be friendly and welcoming. It helps if you can speak a little french. It's around 8KM from the main town of Hammamet - that's a 2 hour walk along the beach. They have free wifi internet access in the lobby area. I had an all-inclusive deal. There was a massive amount of food available and as a veggie I always had plenty to choose from. The local wine/beer/spirits were not bad.
“It's perfect if you know that is a 3 stars & half hotel”
The hotel is close to the beach and the food is ok. Swimming pools are nice, specially the one in the little park in the backyards. The service is average but rooms are clear. Generally I would recommend this hotel to families with children, not to couples and singles. This hotel it's little bit old and dark, it needs to be renewed!!
“Not a 5* just a 3*”
Speant two weeks in YB hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean and bright. However, there was no main light therefore bedside lamps were not sufficient for lightting the room. The restaurant did have a variety of food and was very well cooked and labelled and also enjoy the different cusisine stations dotted around. Waiters were friendly and polite and were provided the drinks prompytly. After two weeks of eating the same food, I did get bored and was fed up and started missing meals out as it became too predictable. To note the indoor is not heated and gym and sauna is not free and you have to pay extra even though I went all inc.
