“Terrific quaint and inexpensive hotel in the midst of old Hanoi.”
Hotel management and staff go out of their way to make visitors welcome. The small hotel is quaint, not opulent, but meets all basic needs. It is situated on a small side street in the old historic part of Hanoi. For foreign visitors it puts us directly into the heart of this amazingly vibrant and developing city. An easy walk to all major points of interest. The provided breakfast is convenient and served in a quaint dining room. Service overall is excellent; for anything you need, just ask hotel manager 'Tony' and it will be done for you! We would return to this hotel any time.
“Happily to return.”
This is the third time I came back to this hotel for my Ha-Noi trip. You know why. Everything is exceptional with this hotel. I will come back to stay here again in December for my next trip.
“would stay there again”
Hotel is clean, staff are attentive. Hotel Capitol is walking distance to all of Old Quarter.
“I hope go back with more time to know new areas- and cities”
Oveall- people there was very efficient and very kinds
“Wonderful.”
Wonderful. I surely will stay at this hotel again when I am back in HN.
“Decent Hotel”
Great Value for money
“Amazing Staff and Reasonable Price”
I was staying at the Hanoi Capital Hotel for 4 days (a weekend) and for the price i got it at, it was a fantastic hotel. Breakfast every morning between 7 and 9.30. My first morning, i forgot the times and overslept. Coming downstairs anyway to see if the restaurant was open, the staff politely informed me that it wasnt, but saw that i was feeling ill, made me a complete breakfast without any hesitation. They went out of their way entirely to accommodate me. The staff were easily some of the best ive encountered travelling through South East Asia and more than happy to have a quick chat with you and help you order a taxi. The room was slightly small, but it didnt matter too much. Mini bar was well stocked and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Working Aircon and excellent tv reception with large screen tv. The bathroom was about the only issue. The bathroom needed a bit of a makeover as the bathtub itself is a half a meter (nearly 2 feet) above the ground and i actually slipped getting out of the shower, hitting my head. Other than that, its a fantastic place to come and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in hanoi for a couple of days that needs a base of operations to stay at.
“Great for the price.”
The staff were very friendly, and so helpful. They were never pushy about tours. The breakfast was great too. Only problem was the leaking shower floor, but otherwise great for the price.
“Good for shopping”
Hotel staff and friendly but not especially good speaking English. Situated in the Old Quater is good for those who like shopping but hotel is situated in a back street. Its a maze of strrets so a map is essential. Hotel can arrange trips for you and take advanytage of this.
“Room was good, service was not, but super cheap!”
Hotel was decent, clean, large enough. Some rooms have a bathtub, others are just wet rooms. Hot water runs out very quickly. Very few of the hotel staff speak English (only the manager, and maybe one other person could speak). Buffet breakfast needs to be ordered by pointing at pictures on the menu, but often the staff don't show you where the menu is -- you have to figure out how to order after watching others order. When you step in the door, the manager pressures you into booking all of these tours which could be booked for much cheaper literally at any one of the many discount travel agents on the same street. Be wary of paying for things in american dollars with dong as doesn't give the rate that everyone on the street and all the vendors give you (at the time of writing, it is 1USD = 20,000 dong). His rate will generally benefit him. Otherwise it was a good stay.
