“Melia Hotel, Hanoi”
We stayed in the Melia Hotel for a few nights at the beginning of August as the first leg of a 3 week trip through S.E. Asia. My wife and I found the hotel to be realy excellent and very good value for money. I would consider it as good (and in some cases better) than a number of 5-star hotels that I have used for business. The room was bright and airy and very well appointed. Staff were excellent and there are a couple of nice restaurants in the hotel (although there are many excellent places to eat close by that are also much cheaper and more atmospheric). The hotel is located in a slightly quieter part of town which was good for us, but transport is quick and easy to find and only a short trip to anywhere of interest in Hanoi. The hotel also has the full range of services you might require for business or tourist travellers. I would certainly use this hotel again and would have no reservations in recommending it, either for business or leisure.
“A Jewel in Hanoi”
We were greeted at the door, processed quickly, and shown to a lovely room. The hotel offers spa services at very reasonable prices, a large and tasty breakfast buffet, travel services, money exchange, and several shops. It is located close to many points of interest. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
“Hanoi 1000 next October”
Hanoi is a fast moving, motor scooter noisy city and the Melia is just a short walk from all the action of old town, and a great place to hang out after a busy day of touring. Great restaurant as well.
“Great Location.”
This was my second stay at the Melia Hanoi. It is a wonderful Hotel that include an amazing buffet breakfast. The staff is very professional and will make the extra effort to ensure that your stay if a good one. The Location to the Lake and Old City is within easy waking distance from the Hotel or about 1-2 dollars by taxi. There are many excellent restaurants close to the hotel for lunch and/or dinner. When I return to Hanoi I will stay at the Malia again.

This is probably one of the best hotels in Hanoi. The executive rooms are very spacious. Location is quite good, with the old quarter in walking distance.

“Highly recommended”
An excellent hotel - the best I have stayed in - which lived up to its endeavour to surprise its guests with a stay even better than expected. They left a lovely birthday cake in the room on my husband's birthday and went out of their way to make our whole stay comfortable and memorable. The Halong Bay tour they organised for us was beautiful - a real gem of a place - and a magnificent cave and private lunch on the cruise. Tam Coc was a bit of a let down for me after Halong Bay and the sampan rowers expect you to buy drinks, tip and push their souvenirs at you while you are on the river so take plenty of extra cash. We can recommend the Water Puppets and if you like Live Music, the Club 17 on rue Tran Hung Dao is worth a try - English music in a Western Cowboy setting. It is easy to walk around all Hanoi from the hotel.
“Great Hotel”
Fantastic hotel for business. Easy to find, clean, classy, great service...the works. A little pricey and a slight walk to the older town are the only downsides.
