“Great value for money”
Our room had very obviously been recently refurbished - good finish on everything, full sized dishwasher, big fridge, balcony looking out over the river and everything you need for a short stay, including bed linen and a bath you would want to sit in after a long day snowboarding. Underground parking place was available for a very reasonable 7euro a day in April, although the corners were pretty tight so happy we didn't have a huge car. They are set up so you can rent towels and buy a cleaning pack for dishwashing etc but easy to take your own. Checkout was at the other Maeva round the corner on Place Chamonix Sud, but quite easy. Shops bars and restaurants all very close, but it helped not to be right above the square for a quieter evening.
“nice for the price”
The "residence" was nice for the price, and the view and location were great.... but be warned, you are expected to clean up everything including the bathroom and are not provided the cleaning supplies to do so. You can rent a towel for 10 bucks, or buy a cleaning kit for 10 bucks, I would for sure stay again but will be prepared by bringing my own cleaning supplies and towels. And we ran out of TP when the desk was not opened so we had to go buy some.
“no frills but good value”
Very basic room but clean. Great location very close to bars resurants and ski bus. Good views from balcony.
“Bargain”
For the price we paid i really can't fault this place. Has everything you would expect from an appartment style accomodation. The place was in mint condition and in a good location for both town and catching the busses for the ski lifts! I'll be back!!
“Clean and comfortable”
Comfortable, clean and conveniently located hotel. Rooms were small but very functional. Front desk was helpful.
“For the price - cant be beaten”
Stayed there for 5 days Jan 2008. Room was basic, but typical self catering. Very close to ski lifts to mont blanc. Dont expect 24/7 reception service - its self catering! Book in, make sure you have what you need. Will deffo be back next year, cant be beaten.
“Very pleased with this accomodation”
Fantastic accomodation. Quite centrally located. Clean, warm and cosy hotel with almost everything you might need for your stay. Just remember to get your own towels. It is very advisable though to get in touch with the hotel beforehand to let them know if you are arriving late to check-in otherwise you risk staying outside in the cold weather not knowing the code for the door to get in.
“Sold down the river”
This hotel is of the quality you would expect for the price. It is a budget hotel offering very competitive rates. If this is what you are after, thenyou cannot fualt the hotel, it is reasonably clean, offers excellent location for skiing and south Chamonix bars and nightlife and gives you the option for eating in. Overall I'd go again simply for the value.
“Basic”
The Hotel was ok and, I suppose, you get what you pay for!!! It was VERY basic; just a wooden box really with a small set of bunk beds in the entrance bit next to the bathroom and a folding sofa bed thing. The staff were friendly enough so can't complain. For some reason our fellow residents decided to scrape furniture about all night which interrupted my sleep. The walls are paper thin so you heard every sound! Overall it was OK but not great. Like I said; you get what you pay for.
“Only if You Are a Heavy Sleeper”
The price, kindness of staff, and the location are excellent. Everything else is what you might expect of a two star accomodation. For those who are light sleepers, BE FORWARNED. The buses which operate very early in the morning and late at night are very loud - even on a top floor. Also, the bar/bowling alley next door attract a rowdy crowd during mid-term break - and every night we had young men howling as they walked away at 1:00 am in the morning.
