“King Kamehameha”
This is a Marriott hotel and was spacious and comfortable. The partial ocean view advertised for our room was barely that, but the room itself was lovely. Unusual for American hotels there was a coffee machine in our room which we appreciated. The pool, jacuzzi and poolside bar/restaurant were great. The beach is a tiny public one which was OK in February but maybe not at the height of the season. The proximity to the quay for whale-watching trips is helpful. The hotel itself has good additional facilities such as free computers and internet and an ATM, plus a good shopping mall. We would stay there again.
“Very accommodating”
Excellent service, very accommodating in every way
“Excellent choice”
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It has excellent facilities, great staff and spacious rooms. Their luau was very well done.
“Loved it!”
King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel was the BEST hotel I have stayed in while visiting Hawaii. The room was sparkling clean and very comfortable, very spacious bathroom, nice balcony. Lovely pool area with ocean view. Haven't tried the restaurant because it seemed very pricey but poolside bar had very good food. Loved everything about it - five stars all the way!
“Sandy & Keith from Michigan”
We were very happy with our stay here. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The maid was very cheerful and pleasant. The pool is nice, breakfast buffet is yummy and the location is great. Two great restaurants across the street. We would definitely stay here again.
“Great experience”
King Kamehameha's has recently been remodeled. The rooms were neat and clean. Service was great. The sand beach was great. It was the only sand beach in the area. The rest have coral. We really missed a kitchenette, but knew in advance that they just had a small in-cabinet refrig. We would stay here again.
“Great Hotel in a Great Location”
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel before, so we knew what to expect. The location is perfect, on the ocean with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel has its own restaurant which is open for breakfast and throughout the day. We and our friends ate breakfast at the hotel several times. They have a breakfast buffet, but we ordered off the menu so I can't say how the buffet was, except that it looked good. They have a pool, and access to ocean swimming. There is a bar/snack bar by the pool. We had sandwiches there one day and were pleased. The hotel does charge for parking, $10 plus taxes a day. Our rooms were on the third floor and quiet. I liked the full-sized tub for showers, rather than the narrow tubs found in other hotels. They provided small refrigerators in the room, and hair dryers. The hotel holds a luau three or four nights a week. My husband and I went once when we were there, but not on this trip.
“Awesome!!!!”
Hotel and service was great but it was wrecked after tsunami....
“Kona's King”
The hotel was gorgeous and quickly repairing the damage from the February Tsunami. The staff was helpful, friendly, and informative. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to stay.
“great hotel”
close to events and town
