“Perfect Kona Resort”
Holua Resort turned out to be even better then we anticipated. The room we had was just beautiful! So big and roomy and super clean! It was the perfect place to go to "get-away". There are 8 pools on the property so you dont have to walk far to go swimming. If you want to go to the beach its just a 5 minute drive away. Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Holua and look forward to going back there next year!!!!!
“great place for families”
Holua is a great place to stay, especially for families. There's a ton of space and the layout (bedroom's downstairs) is great for the views. We had a reunion of sorts with 15 adults and 10 kids and had plenty of room.
“What a find!”
Wow, what a find! Huge airy rooms, very comfortable bed, big wrap around balcony with a table, chairs, and chaise lounges. Staff was very friendly and helpful, although I found the concierge a bit overbearing and annoying (just my personal taste). Not on the ocean, but right next to it and in a nice location on the south end of Kailua-Kona, which means not filled with crowds of tourists. We rented a cooler from the front desk for the whole week for $20 and they provided all the ice we wanted, which was great. They also rent beach chairs, but we didn't try those. There are nice Webber bbqs provided, one for every few rooms. We used ours several times and never had to wait. Unless you absolutely must be on the ocean, I very highly recommend staying here while in Kona!
“Review of Mauna Loa resort”
A lovely place, a good value for the 4 of us who shared a 2 bedroom townhouse. The only negative was the not-very-hot spa, with minimal jets, which was not very clean. The unit we were in looked brand new, not a spot on anything.
“friendly, clean, convenient condo in Kona”
Staff was helpful and friendly. The maids sometimes forgot towels but the front desk remedied that instantly when I called. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen and (small) laundry were convenient. Patios were pleasant.
“Great Kona value.”
Great complex of low profiled 2 story buildings with lots of pools & spas, BBQ grills. Beautiful grounds. This is not one of those monstrous concrete monoliths that line the beaches. We had a 2 bedroom suite in a 2 story townhouse with a view of the ocean - not all units have ocean views. The suite was well equipped with a nice kitchen where we prepared our morning coffee & breakfast prior to eating on the balcony facing the ocean. Our unit also had a washer & dryer. There is underground parking to keep you car from roasting! There are tennis courts and a nearby golf course. It was a short 5 minute walk to the beach and 1.25 miles from a shopping center were we were able to buy kitchen supplies Staff were great & friendly. NOTE that this is timeshare complex but there was no pressure to go to a sales presentation.
“Cozy place”
My wife and me stayed four nights on the end of this August. This condominium locates on the end of babel resort area, so you can really enjoy a holiday mood. The room was clean and spacious with full set of kitchin facilities. The neighbor Keauhou shopping center was very convenient.
“Great place (and even better if you like tennis)”
Holua Resort is a great place to stay if you're looking to spread out and want to explore the entire island. We are not typical tourists to Hawaii; we spent our time at the volcano and experiencing the culture, not swimming, snorkeling or sailing. For us, this was the perfect place to use as a headquarters for exploring the island. It is very close to the quaint parts of Kona, very near shopping, and well-maintained and spacious. For three of us, having three bathrooms in the condo was great for getting up in the morning and getting away.
“Topped off my vacation”
First off, none of these hotels on that side of the island are on any white sandy beaches or any pretense of the sort. Its all black volcanic rock,so no matter what prestigious hotels you maybe looking at, they all share the same thing. its true you can see the beach from pretty much any room, to go to the actual sandy beaches you have drive anotehr good 20+ minutes mostly because of the one way lane highway with a speed limit of 55. . I loved loved loved the hotel. I like saving money but i also don tlike being too cheap. I would not hesistate at a moments notice to go back. Its styled like a house where the downstairs are rooms and upstairs is the kitchen and sitting room. House is super clean, the hotel staff is always willing and ready to provide, the bbq grills are outside for your use. very quiet area. great air. tvs with dvds incase you actually wanna stay in. The pull out sofas are wonderful, the private patios, worth every penny, the kitchen is well stocked, the heating/cooling options work wonders in the house. They have tennis courts incase you wanna exercise your food away, they have luaus on tuesdays I think which was nice, yes for wifi so you can still do your business in the morning and leisure in the morning. The conciege quite knowledgeable. The hotel stuff..mahalo. I honestly wouldnt even bother going back to any other pricier place even if I had the money.
“We will return”
This hotel was beautiful. The condo was tastefully decorated and the grounds and gardens were beautiful. The employees were extremely helpful and accommodating. The price was very reasonable for the what we got. We will definetly return and recommend it to friends.
