"Great location close to Edinburgh Airport but in lovely countryside (it has a Golf course). Great staff, good dining choices and excellent facilities; lots of gym equipment, large heated indoor pool, sauna & steam. Fantastic rest stop after long travel to Edinburgh or resting place before long travel home."

"This is a large hotel with only two unlinked elevators serving a single elevator bay, with up and down stairs on the same level, resulting in extremely long wait times. When departing, we called for luggage assistance, but after waiting 15 minutes with nobody arriving, we carried our luggage down the stairs ourselves to reach the elevators. Even then, we waited another 10 minutes before we could get into an elevator, as they consistently arrived full. The suite was very nice and clean; however, none of the USB outlets worked. Additionally, the bathroom exhaust fan and towel warmer were not functioning. We also encountered an issue with being incorrectly charged for breakfast. The hotel has an unusual setup where the Executive Lounge, which serves as the breakfast venue in the morning, does not officially open until noon. Guests with Executive Lounge access are entitled to breakfast there, but we encountered a staff member who appeared unfamiliar with the policy. Despite our request, they declined to verify it with management and insisted on charging us. The charge was later removed after we spoke with a manager, who was very apologetic and resolved the issue promptly. While the accommodations themselves were pleasant, the elevator delays, maintenance issues, and breakfast billing confusion significantly detracted from the overall experience"

"No US or EU outlets. Only UK and a couple of USB drive outlets. Normally, the USB outlets should be good for changing, however there was a documentary that came out a year or two ago as a warning that hackers install malicious software directly onto the charging USB ports and after seeing that, I refrain from using them. My room was tiny. Great for a single person thats there on a business trip, but not for someone that's bringing a large 32in luggage.There is absolutely no place/space to open it, other than on the bed directly. I think that should be part of the room description. I love the touch "do not disturb" button. It lights out on the outside and it's much better than the old cardboard/plastic door handle signs."

"It is the perfect location to be in the city. I understand the age of the building, but there is zero AC in the rooms and the winds only open a couple inches. It’s VERY warm in the room. Also, the first room they gave us with our castle view was horrible with a giant wall obstructing the view. We requested another room and by the third try we had a decent view. Beware when paying extra for a castle view."
