"The Hotel was very cosy, lots of “stuff everywhere” on the walls etc, so very individual if that’s your thing.
Room was small but had everything, staff were polite and efficient, food good etc."

Holiday Inn Gloucester-Cheltenham by IHG
8/10 Good
"On arrival was hit by the very pleasant aroma in the reception area. It would be nice if the hallways & rooms smelt like this. Breakfast very good . Bar prices very expensive. Over £20 for a beer & large glass of wine. I understand why others were popping to nearby shop ."

Gloucester Robinswood Hotel by Sunday
6/10 Okay
"Out of town location. Property needs a makeover. Carpets overdue for clean or replacement. Room otherwise clean but not serviced daily. Reception staff polite and helpful but don't present a confidence in their product. Overall impression was shabby. Breakfast by 830am was limted to remains of much earlier cooked food. Had to bring attention to staff the mould on bread for toast."

Best Western Pontypool Metro Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"One of times I booked the mirror and surfaces was dirty like the cleaner was dirty. Also me and my partner got banned without a reason and when we booked following time they refused to provide service or provide explanation. Strange people"

The Abbey Great Malvern
4/10 Poor
"This is a hotel in a lovely location with much to see around it but what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend in a nice hotel was any thing but. The reception on arriving was stale and disinterested. The room was small. On the first day I had to go to reception three times just for milk. Saturday a wedding was held at the hotel and lack of management of noisy people outside our window until 1.40am meant very little sleep in spite of reporting it three times. Then Monday morning we awoke to the dragging and banging of the waste bins and collection and retuning of the bins. Started at 7am and went on until 7.40am. That was then replaced by the delivery of stock with the metal cages being dragged over paths and then empty ones being pulled two at time banging together and rattling like mad which lasted until after 9am. Breakfast was typical, but cold. With staff clearing the table before we had finished eating. Then Monday morning they were short on staff so no buffet breakfast but we could order. So we picked out fruit and cerial and before we could even get half way through it the cooked breakfast was brought by a waiter who was so disinterested and just slapped them on the table and was not happy when we asked for bread for toast. Apart from one member of staff the rest were solemn, totally void of any interest. Serious lack of training and definitely not silver service. We should have stayed in premier inn where they guarantee a good nights sleep at a third of the price."

The Oakwood Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at The Oakwood Hotel in Gloucester on Saturday night and had a lovely stay. We chose the hotel because of its excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds, and it turned out to be the perfect base for visiting beautiful villages such as Bibury, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper Slaughter, and Lower Slaughter. Cardiff is also only around 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car. From check-in to check-out, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and offered free parking, which made our stay even easier. Having local shops nearby was also very convenient. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday, and thanks to the nearby stores we were able to buy a cake and enjoy a small family celebration at the hotel. She enjoyed her stay so much that she made a swan from a towel and left it on the bed as a little thank-you to the housekeeping team. As a father, there is nothing better than seeing your children happy, and this hotel helped make the occasion even more special. The breakfast was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I would happily recommend The Oakwood Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable base to explore the Cotswolds while enjoying friendly service and a relaxed family atmosphere."
