“Holiday Inn Express in downtown Houston”
Called in reservations and room was ready upon arrival. Staff very attentive and after a nights rest the hot breakfast was excellent. Its a very good hotel, fairly new, and located in downtown Houston.

Before arriving I was a bit concerned as some reviews concerning the surrounding area gave the impression it was a bit dodgy and I was going to be walking everywhere, however I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Sure there was an empty block to cross, late evening, coming back from an excellent Japanese Diner, but it wasn't a problem. The hotel exceeded expectations and was great value for money. It was convenient to downtown and we were able to catch a bus to the Johnson Space Centre within a five minute walk - a fact not readily available. The hotel was undergoing external renovations whilst I was there, not inconvenient but means it will be even better next time. The staff was helpful, rooms clean, pool enjoyable, good value for money - what more could you want.

Very helpful and polite staff, great breakfast buffet, room was great. Parking kind of tough, but we were there while both Rockets and Astros both were playing.

I could walk to the convention center for the trade show I was working. Hotel was being updated even though it didn't appear to be old or outdated. Easy to get shuttle to airport.
“A Pleasant Evening in Downtown Houston”
This is not a place to stay if you're accustomed to luxury, though it is attractive, clean , & well-decorated. The staff is friendly & helpful, the hotel has recently been redecorated, the lobby is very nicely done. The location was the draw for us. This area of downtown Houston is rather quiet in the evenings, not much traffic. The room was tastefully done, the bed was comfortable, the shower hot! No complaints whatsoever.
“Excellent hotel for events at Toyota Center”
My wife and I stayed recently at the hotel for the Mana concert at Toyota Center. The hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast had several options. Perfect location if you want to stay at the hotel and attend an event at the Toyota Center. (A short 2 blocks away) No need to stress about the parking (FREE parking at the hotel for guest!) or the traffic leaving the concert. Very impressed with the hotel value and a less expensive option than the Hilton across the street from the Toyota Center (and they don't even give up breakfast!) without sacrificing quality. Overall nice hotel and the only choice for staying near the Toyota Center!!! :)
