“Exhalent short break”
This was the ideal hotel for our first trip to Istanbul. The staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean with excellent breakfast and dining facilities. Located slightly away from the main hustle and bustle of the Old City it was a perfect retreat to come back to after a tiring day sight seeing
“Will definitely go back!”
We love to explore a city on foot, and this hotel was perfect for us. We could walk just a few blocks to Istanbul's most famous sights such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and also spend hours exploring the city's fascinating nooks and crannies that we'd come across at every turn. Then we'd come back to the hotel for a restful hour or two in the lovely garden courtyard where we could have a cold beer and a snack, enjoy the peace and quiet, do some journaling, and get ready for our next jaunt. It was also nice to have a restaurant right in the hotel for the evening or two when we lacked the energy for going out. The hotel staff helped make it a great experience - they provided maps and brochures, recommended and booked tours and performances, and arranged airport transportation.
“Turkish Delight!”
Our trip to Istanbul was our visit there, and we had booked it over my birthday weekend as a short family holiday. We arrived at the Garden House Hotel to be met by the manager, a very charming and courteous chap, who gave us a very warm welcome - he had soon settled us in the courtyard with refreshments whilst our rooms were being made ready. The rooms were spacious and clean, and although the decor is a little on the kitsch side at times, in general it was extremely pleasant. Particularly charming was the mini-hammam in our bathroom! The dining area is part al fresco, and the breakfast buffet was superb. It's also a lovely spot to have sundowner drinks after a day of sight seeing. The staff were all very helpful, really pleasant, and made our stay very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. When the manager found out that it was my birthday that weekend, he even organised a surprise birthday cake and he and the staff presented me with it at breakfast and sang happy birthday, which was most touching. In terms of location, the hotel is roughly 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, and less than 10 from Agya Sofya and the restaurants of Divan Yolu, yet sufficiently tucked away in the Old City to be an oasis of tranquility. I would heartiyl recommend this to anyone who is looking for a tranquil and refreshing experience in Istanbul.

Hotel staff were extremely helpful. Convenient location for trams and sightseeing.
“Exceptionally helpful staff”
A lovely little hotel in a great position to see all the sights of the old city. A good choice at breakfast including cooked eggs or omelettes if you wanted. The manager was exceptionally helpful, particularly on arrival, giving us a detailed map and making suggestions of places to visit and recommending restaurants.They also booked taxis and arranged free restaurant pickups which was very convenient.
“Lovely friendly hotel”
Extremely well situated in quiet neighbourhood but just a short walk to the main sites such as the Blue Mosque and well placed for the tram. The courtyard was lovely and breakfast a treat. Staff are friendly and efficient. Room are small but comfortable and well equipped. A few don't have proper windows - but we were moved.
“Garden House”
We were treated like we were royality. The manager helped us schedule tours and did the booking for us. He suggested an excellent place to have dinner and booked that for us also. The staff was kind and helpful. The Hotel is walking distance (10 minutes) to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque and many other sites.
“Nice hotel close to main sights”
This hotel is in a side street and was intially hard to find. When you arrive the staff are very friendly and very accomodating. I had a room near the reception office and was initially a little concerned with the noise level but was advised that I could move if there was an issue. In the end there was no need to move. Breakfast was typically European, although had lots of fresh fruit. The other nice thing was upon returning after a long day of sight seeing, to relax in the garden with a nice selection of complementary fruit basket with tea or coffee. This hotel has a nice family feel to it and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Would stay here again.
“Very lovely hotel, friendly staff, perfect location!”
The title captures the essence of our experience at Garden House Hotel. It is lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and perfectly located in the old city (Sultanahmet) within 5m walking distance of the Blue Mosque. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and made our stay in Istanbul was enjoyable (e.g. great suggestions for dinner locations and sight-seeing). We will definitely go back!
“Highly recommended”
The hotel was very nice and the satff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely with good facilities - one twin bedded and one double - no view from our windows on ground floor but a minor detail. Very good breakfast including omlettes if asked for. Convenient location for all the sites in Sultanamet district and restaurants- about a 10 minute walk away.
