“Very Satisfactory Sultanahmet Hotel at a Reasonable Price”
The Hippodrome hotel is located within easy walking distance of the Ayasofia, Blue Mosque, etc. and very near several nice, casual restaurants. The kind man at the front desk allowed me to use the hotel computer for three hours when the wireless connection in my room did not work (at least with my laptop). The service in general was excellent. While not luxurious, this was a clean, affordable hotel in a great location.
“Enjoyable stay”
Comfortable room with reasonable space, 16 year old son impressed to have small room of his own instead of sofa bed with parents. Breakfast on the roof-top terrace of the siter hotel nearby meant stunning views. Hotel close to major tourist attractions and the trams. A most enjoyable stay
“Cozy hotel in a great neighborhood”
This cozy hotel has very friendly employees who speak excellent English and help with any request. Breakfast, included in the price, is served on the terrace of a nearby hotel overlooking the water. The rooms are on the small side, but very clean. Major attractions are easily within walking distance, and restaurants and shops are all around.
“Hippodrome is a very good hotel.”
very nice hotel, clean and very friendly staff. Breakfast is also excellent. It is also 5mins away from the Blue mosque, hagia sophia and topkappi palace. Very near the train station and a lot of good restaurants in the neighborhood. I have no complains
“Nice Hotel in Good Location”
Very conveniently located in the touristy area, you can walk to most places in Sultanahmet. Very Good Breakfast with fresh fruits & salad, as well as served afternoon tea & cakes . The house keeing staff- very good. The Hotel reception staff are friendly & helpful, and speak English. All in all we are very impressed with this hotel.
“Great Hotel”
My wife and I found this Hotel to be an excellent choice. It is literally 2 blocks from the Blue Mosque and Hippodrome, and close to public transportation, Haiga Sofia, TopKapi, the Cistern, Grand Bazaar, and Spice Bazaar. The shuttle service from the Hotel to the Airport was only 5 euros per person. We were on the top floor with a nice balcony that had a great view of the Mosque and city. The included continental breakfast across the street was great, lots of food and variety. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The elevator is very small (3 person max) so we had to take our bags down in two trips, but they would have taken them for us if we wanted (they took care of our bags when we arrived, so it wasn't a big deal). Our room was on the very top floor which was one level higher than the elevator serviced, so we had to walk up one flight which was no problem for us, but someone with difficulty climbing stairs would not want the top floor. The room looked brand new or newly remodeled. It had A/C but we didn't need it.
“Great”
Excellent hotel, friendly staff and better than I expected!
“Nice Hotel, Good Breakfast, Friendly Staff”
I have only good things to say about my stay here. The staff was amazing and most spoke English. The breakfast (which was at a nearby hotel) was quite good. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was surprisingly nice. Small room, but it had a lot of character and charm as this used to be an Ottoman house. Amazing location, you can walk to anything. Stay at this hotel!
“Very good”
Very clean hotel but basic. Very short walk to sister hotel for breakfast, which was very good. Brilliant location for all attractions, and centre of Istanbul. Staff very friendly. Wouldnt hesitate about going back again
“Cozy Place with Smiling Face”
Hotel Hippodrome is centrally located and within walking distance of many of the historic sites and mosques. It is comfortable, cozy and ever so friendly ...the staff was excellent, courteous and always helpful. The breakfast buffet is varied and delicious - I enjoyed the cheese assortment, olives, pastry, dates, figs along with the traditional breakfast eggs and meats. The tram is nearby and you can walk to many restaurants. The bathroom is quite modern with plenty of water pressure and hot water. My husband and I stayed 8 days and enjoyed every minute of Sultanahmet and exploring Istanbul. Memories of the Hippodrome make me SMILE, it was the perfect boutique hotel, met all our needs and the hospitality exceeded all expectations.
