“hotel under renovation”
Check in was easy and staff was polite. This hotel appears to be currently under renovation. There was duct tape on the carpet joints and some walls. The carpet had been removed from most of the rooms on the hall we stayed in. You could see the padding at the doorways. Our room was very clean and pretty comfortable. The bathroom had a shower stall only, but it was very large and clean. The shower head was actually set high enough so that I didn't have to duck. There is a pocket door at the bathroom but this wasn't a problem. The sheets and bedspreads were clean and had no off smell, if a little old. The pillows were the cheap flat kind. We actually used the hide-a-bed sofa and it worked fine. The continental breakfast was adequate and had a modest selection including bananas, bread for toast, cold cereal, milk and OJ. Overall our stay was pleasant. It appears that they are trying to renovate while staying open. We were not bothered by this as our room was just fine.
“Repairs”
The hotel appeared to be undergoing some repairs. Carpet was pulled up and some walls were banged up.
“Disappointed”
We knew when we booked this hotel that it wasn't going to be 'the best' however, we expected at least the minimum anyone would. Upon arrival we found the remote didn't work, then the hair dryer plug was melted so I had to trek down to the desk from the 3rd floor (with wet hair) for the only replacement they had. There wasn't even a small, standard alarm clock so we had to make a quick trip to Target for one. The room could have been cleaned better (sink, shower) and perhaps an additional bath towel since the 2 they left were small and kind of worn and definitely an extra pillow or 2. There was no place to print out our boarding passes for our return flight, either. It definitely appeared to be that the place was in the process of being remodeled so I am guessing the duct tape under most of the 3rd floor rooms were those under construction. The one thing good I can say is that although our room was a smoking room, it did not smell bad at all.
“Do not go to this hotel until they clean it up.”
The key card machine that gets the room keys ready was broken, so it took about ten minutes to get the keys for the room. There were burn holes in the bedspread, no coffee for the coffee maker. The door handle was missing to lock the bathroom door. There was duct tape on the carpet outside every door, not sure what that was about. The room door itself was very hard to close as it was off set, so you had to lift up on the handle to get it to shut properly.
“Not even for the weariest of travlers!”
Unfortunately, this hotel was in dreadful condition. It was dirty, sheets were threadbare, blanket was extremely old and used and the TV was a small very old little boxed console. I couldn't stay there after turning down the bed linens and seeing how old and used they appeared. The motel room was quite dirty and I felt very uncomfortable. I left the hotel 10 minutes after arriving. I would not recommend this hotel even for the weariest of travelers.
