“Quality Inn Merriam”

The staff were nice and the room was in good repair. The pool was needing attention but it was May and not swimming weather. The breakfast that was available was pretty good.

“Good but a lot of highway noise”

If you need quite it's best to request a room on the back side. Althogh that is were the pool is, and there was a lot of noise from there. Thankfully they didn't stay late and I got some sleep. The closet door needed attention and the freezer was in need of defrosting.

“Just okay”

I wouldn't say this hotel was bad but I wouldn't say it was good either. For a two night business trip to Kansas City the price was quite inexpensive. The bed was suprisingly comfortable and the front desk people were friendly enough. In other ways we did get what we paid for. The location was awful. No restaraunts within a reasonable walking distance (more than a mile away). Not good when you check-in at 10:30 at night and would like a quick bite to eat. The hallway outside our room smelled musty and old. And the continental breakfast was nothing special. Next time we'll pay the extra $$ for a better location.

“Quality Inn Merriam, KS”

I was not pleased with our stay at this hotel. We had ants in our room the first day we were there. Also, the pool was claimed to be closed for the day so we had to pay to use a public pool, when we came back to the hotel the hotel pool was open again. The few good points were that the hotel staff was all very friendly and it was a kid friendly environment.

“Hotel Staff was not very impressive”

When we checked into the hotel, we received a room key. We went in and someone else's stuff was sitting around the room. We went back down to the front desk and the girl said that someone had rented that room but hadn't put the info into the computer. She gave us another room. Then the air conditioner was so loud that it was hard to sleep. The swimming pool was merky and didn't look very inviting.

I wasn't expecting much, however, I would expect that light bulbs work (they didn't), and that there wouldn't be spiders in the bath towels (there were). The front desk person was friendly and accomdating, but it was clear that the little things were forgotten. Even a 2-star hotel can have and meet basic standards. This one didn't quite do it.

“No Hotel this was a Motel”

If you like outside room entrances and the roar diesel engines -- this is your place. Forget about services. The vending was all out of water and the lobby was locked tight at night (the room key reader did not work.)

“I will not be staying here again”

We rented two rooms and requested they be next to each other. Had to negotiate this upon arriving. One of the smoking rooms did not have any ashtrays or a phone. We had to go to the lobby to get an ashtray and a key to another room to remove the phone from that room as there was only one person available. Then the TV wouldn't work, so back to the lobby to get another key to another room and move into it. Our window wouldn't close tight so the interstate noise was quite loud all day and all night. Over all the motel needs updating and cleaning. Rather than paint our room they had just stroked some paint on what probably was bad area's and the carpet appeared dirty.

“Hotel Hell”

Ants, Ants and more Ants. In beds, food and on body. Told management about problem said they would move us to another room, never heard another word from them, so we moved to the Holiday Inn which was great. They were upset that I brought the pizza box down to them full of their ants, I thought that was pretty classless of them. Dirty motel, will NEVER stay there again!! Warn your friends and family.
