“Very convenient”
This hotel had an excellent restaurant and the breakfast buffet was very good.
“Very good value”
Very comfortable, clean, warm hotel. Breakfast was very good - a good choice of cereals, yogurt, fruit, cold meats, cheese and a hot buffet. About ten minutes walk from the main square and walking distance from the station. We would stay here again.
“A Good Base to see Krakow”
This is a first rate hotel by local standards, competitively priced, and well run, with the added bonus of a good restaurant attached. It offers free parking and is in easy walking distance of historic Krakow. Two cautions - it is opposite an ambulance station with predictable results in an emergency; and, some guests were not so happy with the annex. But, in sum, good value!
“Cant wait to go back”
Very impressed with all aspects of this hotel. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very helpful. The food was of excellent quality and selection. We ate every night in the hotel as the food was that good. The hotel is ideally situated only 10-15 minute walk from the town square. We booked all our trips from the hotel and taxi for the return journey again i can't praise the service enough. We had a triple room which was spacious and comfortable.
“Great value hotel”
Very happy with our choice of hotel. Easy walking distance to the city centre.
“Would use this hotel again”
We stayed at the Batory Hotel for four nights in May 2007. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the main square however some of the residential streets you have to go along are not well lit and not many passers-by so may not be suitable for woman travelling alone if you intend to go out alone at night. The hotel offerred a buffet breakfast which set us up nicely for the day. We also used the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was excellent and good value. This is Polish cuisine. The breakfast room/restaurant and bar are in the basement and although nicely furnished there is not much atmosphere if having a meal or a drink in the evening (however fine for breakfast). The rooms are clean, comfortable and airy. The staff were friendly and helpful.
“Great little quaint funky place”
The Batory is a fabulous deal. It's a little place, funky, quaint, with excellent service and a superb breakfast buffet. It's about a "10 minutes walk" (the usual descriptor for anyplace you want to walk to in Krakiv) from the city center and getting there gives you something of a glimpse of The Real Poland. I will book the Batory again and recommend it to all of my buds.
“Good, comfortable hotel”
I would definatly recommend this hotel, it is clean, quiet and the staff are very friendly. The hotel is only a 10 minutes max walk to the centre of Krakow, close enough to walk, and far enough away so that it is in a very quiet area. The only slight problem - and it is very slight - is that the room we had wasn't huge, however we didn't find the room size a problem as you don't go to Krakow to sit in a hotel room. The bathroom was a very good size with a large shower and all the usual conveniences.
“Excellent hotel”
Excellent and reasonably priced hotel conveniently located. The hotel is small, with beautifully furnished rooms, including a balcony and a restaurant with excellent Polish cuisine and a great breakfast buffet that was included in the price. The hotel staff speaks English and was extremely helpful in arranging tours, answering questions, and preparing our room, since we arrived earlier than expected. The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute walk from the Old Town, a bit off the beaten path, but it is not too far, and whatever you lose from the distance you gain in peace and quiet. Also the hotel is accessible to Wawel Castle and the Jewish quarter. We loved the hotel and considered it a highlight of our stay, and would certainly go back if and when we return to Krakow.
“recommendations correct.”
Excellent location, quick 15 minute walk to the square. Restaurant very good, helpful service from staff particularly with regard to the Polish food....large portions! The only issue we had was with the noise of traffic when we had to leave the windows open due to the heat wave. Would take ear plugs next time just in case!We were situated in the main hotel following previous reviews, can't speak about the annexe.
