“Outstanding stay”
After reading the reviews online I was a bit worried. But the hotel was fantastic. We managed to get a good deal and the entranc foyer made us feel very happy with our choice. Very easy to find the shuttle thanks to previous reviews. Kyoto station is huge. The hotel is close to many excellent shrines and temples and the subway is right there also. Employees answered all our questions and helped us with restaurants and directions to the goldenpavillion which is a bit out of the way. Their English was all excellent. our room was a long way from the lift but it didn't worry us. it was a bit of a pain to go down to the foyer with our iPad but the system worked well there. outstanding pool and gym service.. shuttle bus was excellent. We would stay again
“Great hotel Overall”
Great Hotel and service. shuttle bus from Kyoto station is a bit shocking with timing but everything else is great. Not too far from the town centre, however you still need to take bus or subway. If rates are too expensive I would recommend Kyoto Royal Hotel, that's pin point in the centre of Kyoto.
“Excellent international hotel in Kyoto”
Excellent hotel and services in Kyoto. The location is very convenient closed with the major places to visit in this city. I recommend to rent a bike in the hotel which is an amazing thing to visit Kyoto.
“Excellent stay”
After staying 2 nights in a traditional ryokan, we spent our 3rd night in Kyoto at the Westin Miyako. We were able to easily find the hotel as it is conveniently located next to a subway station. The service from the moment we arrived at the hotel fairly in the morning was exceptional. As we could not check in until 1pm, we were able to leave our luggage with them while we toured the city. When we returned to check in later in the afternoon, we found we had been upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the train station which we made use of on our last day, but the shuttle also stops at various tourist intersections which would have also been very convenient had we known about it earlier. Wonderful hotel, will definately stay there again if the opportunity arises.
“Comfortable and Quiet”
Hotel is on the edge of town with a shuttle bus every 1/2 hour to/from Kyoto Station (approx 10 min ride). Very comfortable and quiet, staff are great, was recommended to me and i was very happy. Internet minimum 1 day and in my experience not cheap. Nice local restaurants nearby.
“Luxury in peaceful surroundings”
Stayed 3 days for relaxation after a business meeting and it was certainly an excellent choice at a very reasonable room rate considering the prestige of the hotel. We were upgraded to a fantastic, massive corner room on the 8th floor with both mountain and city views and a hi-tech bathroom. The hotel is huge and complicated in layout with plenty of potential to get lost, especially if one takes the wrong elevator and ends up in the wedding suite! The various restaurants are quite expensive, but the buffet breakfasts and dinner in the Aquablu restaurant are good value for a hotel of this luxury. The reception and service staff speak English reasonably well are all extremely polite, well informed and helpful. The indoor pool and gym on the 3rd floor are excellent but seem little used, and there are nice Japanese gardens and walking trails up the hillside behind the hotel. The site is quite a way east of Kyoto centre there are a some interesting sights within walking distance, but few shops or restaurants in the neighbourhood, but the hotel is right next door to the Kaege subway station and there is a half-hourly shuttle bus (limousine) to/from Kyoto JR station (near the main Shinkansen entrance) with stops at downtown subway stations and Gion on the way.
“would stay here again”
nice hotel, free shuttle from kyoto station(ends around 6p.m.)makes it easy to get back & forth to gion & station. great service .thanks to asst manager ian k for esp good service. will stay here next time.
“Enjoyed the Miyako thoroughy”
We had two rooms for a family of four. It was a delightful place from which to explore Kyoto. The shuttle service from Kyoto Station was a bit hard to locate, but was convenient once we did. The food is very expensive and be prepared for a charge for everything, including a dip in the pool(!), but we came prepared for that. (There are restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance). Compared to other hotels in Kyoto, it was still a great deal. Walking distance to the Philosophers Path (lovely!)
“Very good”
The hotel is very good. Then, they even gave me an upper grade room. It was a fantastic deal for the price.
“Great venue and the staff so polite”
Big hall for event that contain almost 1000 people Incredibily clean. wow great hotel Shuttle transportation from 6am to 6pm. 30 minutes from train station not down town but may be at 20 minutes taxi
