“Would definitely stay again”
A spotless and very welcoming hotel, very comfortable well serviced room, enormous bed! The Italian staff were very accommodating and most of them could speak a few words of English which was very helpful for people with very limited Italian! Would definitely go again and would recommend for brilliant views of the lake as soon as you wake up in the morning...
“Lovely hotel - lovely people”
The hotel was everything we had hoped for. The staff were brilliant - nothing was any trouble. The outside pool was clean and relaxing. Good choice of items from the buffet breakfast.
“Desenzano”
a nice hotel, 15 minutes walk from the centre of Desenzano (30 mins from the railway station). Very friendly staff and a relaxing place to stay.
“Hotel Oliveto - excellent facility”
Apart from the initial dissappointment of the baggage missing the connection and not turning up for thirty hours Desenzano was a good destination and the hotel excellent. The staff were very attentive and the hotel facilities first class. Probably a week was long enough for my wife and I as we are not very active, however there is plenty of water and sporting activities for those so inclined.
“Lovely”
The room was lovely and the staff excellent. Overall a great place to stay. The pool was lovely, never busy or noisy, just right for a swim, without any sun worshippers. I would recommend a taxi if you're arriving at the train station with luggage. a very pleasant 15 minute walk into Desenzano centre, no problems.
“Nice 3-star Hotel”
Stayed 2 nights in February during the low season. Rooms are larger than typical European hotel rooms; very clean with large bathroom. Comes with a sink, toilet, bidet and shower but no bathtubs to be found in the hotel. Towels are large, clean, fresh and new. View of the lake was OK but not extraordinary. Breakfast was typical European continental. Beds are VERY firm and pillows quite thin. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant or try the pool. Spa is very limited. Easy walk to downtown for shopping and restaurants. 20-min drive through traffic to Sirmione. Good value for the money, excellent location in Desenzano.
“Restaurant unwelcoming”
When you arrive at a hotel where there is a restaurant, you do not expect to be met at the restaurant door, asked if you have booked a table (we hadn't as we arrived in the evening) and be told there was no room. As it happened, we waited and had a drink and were then invited to a table. A friendly manner would have warmed us to the hotel. We felt unwelcomed. Paintings on the walls around the hotel are dreary, unattractive and some very depressing.
“Good standard of hotel”
Situated in a nice quiet enviroment about 20 minutes from the centre of Desenanzo. Ideal for people who want an restful holiday. The hotel is very quiet but well appointed. If you are a TV addict the offerings are resticted to BBC World, CNN and Eurosport but it does feature Sky Sports in Italian. If you like a full English breakfast it's not for you. Don't expect to trip the light fantastic in the hotel.Good opportunity to both create an appetite before dinner and walk off the food afterwards if on bed and breakfast option. There are plenty of good restaurants in the main centre of the town which is next to the seafront. Really enjoyed our lake view room well worth the extra.
“Not Impressed!”
Please do not reward bad service by booking this hotel! My husband asked for a hot chocolate for me at the bar when we returned one evening about 9.30 - 10.00pm. The barman's (also the night receptionist) response was " I do not understand you people who come here to this weather and order hot chocolate". At first my husband took this to be a joke but he repeated it several times until my husband told him to forget it and walked away. My husband then went to reception to collect our passports where the barman continued to be obnoxious whilst trying to say that he had been joking earlier. We have never come across such attitude in any hotel let alone a Best Western but our next stay at the Best Western Hotel Bologna in Mestre, Venice was excellent in every way and restored our faith in this chain. On a positive note the breakfast staff were very pleasant and helpful.
