“Comfortable Hotel in Colombare”
If you are looking for a hotel close to the hub of Sirmione, then this is not the hotel for you. Hotel Abacus is in Colombare, about 30 mins by foot from Sirmione (there are many buses, and a taxi-boat point nearby) - the walk is not unpleasant and the Hotel is located in a nice area with many good restaurants and a supermarket close by. The rooms are spacious, though the ensuite is compact, the staff are friendly and the hotel well tended. The hotel is very good value and would recommend for small groups and families.
“You can count on the Abacus!”
I got a great deal through Expedia for this 3 star in Sirmione, Lake Garda. The hotel was great value considering other 3 star hotels in the area were double and triple the cost and often more for a 10 night stay in September. The hotel was a 2-3 minute walk from Via Colombare with it's cafés and restaurants, and a 10 minute walk from the lakeside itself. Plus it was easy to get to other areas around the Lake and to Verona and Mantova. If you're keen on cycling like me, there was a great bike shop called 'il Ciclista' opposite the hotel renting out road bikes and mountain bikes, or ready to repair your own bike if you had taken it with you. The hotel was what I expected of a 3 star in terms of fixtures and fittings, but the service of the incredibly friendly, warm and helpful staff was way beyond what I expected. This also made for a relaxed, unstuffy atmosphere. The Abacus team were always ready to help with a smile and advice on how to reach other locations, where to buy bus tickets etc. Great value and excellent service. I would definitely recommend a stay at Hotel Abacus.
“Great place to explore sirmione”
Amazing breakfast with hot chocolate crossiants. Pool was nice and room size was good with small balcony. Only downer was the shower plug hole didnt drain very well
