“They even held a parade for our arrival!”
Can you imagine the surprise we had as we pulled into Lakeland, FL after our flight from the cold of upstate NY. to find that the whole town had come out for their Christmas Parade the night that we arrived. We were not able to get to the hotel because of the parade for about an hour or so because of its location on the route. The value of this stay proves to us the importance of working with expedia.com. This room should have cost us about 5 times what we paid. We met friends from Lakeland for a wonderful breakfast in the hotels historical dining area and they were very impressed that we chose to stay at The Terrace Hotel. It was a wonderful and memorable night looking out on the lakes and the holiday decorations.
“Terrace Hotel”
Not for kids or families but excellent if you are on business. The food is 5 star and the service is high quality rather than quantity. Very relaxing but not the cheapest place around.
“A few things wrong”
Overall, I must say that our stay was enjoyable. However there were a few annoying things. First, the food service. In general, the restraunt was overpriced. In the restraunt, it was $3 for a croissant. It was only after eating in the restraunt that I noticed that hidden by the elevators they had some for free. Also, I later discovered that through room service they were only $2.50. Nothing major, but annoying. Second, on the last day of out stay, the entire hotel was without hot water for showers. :(
“Always stay at the the terrace hotel when in Lakeland”
Set outside over lookimg the lake. comfortable and relaxing. The resturants and bars are all whithin walking distance
“Great Place to Stay”
We found the Terrace Hotel to be very comfortable and convenient to the local attractions, eating establishments, and the convention center. Prices in the restaurant were high. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again without question.
“very pleased”
We showed up with a trailer and even though the only parking they had was a garage that didn't allow trailers, they let us park in thier vallet parking. We felt very safe and welcomed.
“Comfort with old world amenities”
This is a beautiful old hotel, that has nice comfortable rooms. It would be nicer if you could fill your ice bucket without going to the hotel bar and if they did not insist a valet parking.
“Lakeland at it's Best!”
Nice hotel. Rooms are not huge due to year it was built. Centrally located to downtown. If you want to experience the warmth of Lakeland, stay here. If you want to stay in a cookie cutter hotel, stay by the interstate.
“A Pleasant Suprise”
I got a pretty good deal on my rate on line. So I wasn't prepared for the level of service and amenities that awaited me, from the valet who parked my car and took my luggage to my room, or the great housekeeping staff. Although I didn't eat in the restaurant, I did at least have a beer in the small bar area served by a very professional and competant young lady. I was also impressed with the appearance of the dining room. For the evening meal a coat and tie might not be inappropriate. Fortunately there are are other eateries within walking distance that will allow you a choice of atmosphere, and where I felt more comfortable in my decidedly informal attire. Actually, I came for three Tiger Games, and Marchant Stadium was an easy drive just down the street. One small complaint that I'm certain you are already aware of was the lack of an ice machine on the eighth floor. In my case it was not much of a hardship as my room was right across from the elevator which made for a quick trip to the seventh floor and back. Thanks for a pleasant stay, and I hope to return next year.
“Nice”
Nice views, nice desk clerk at all times, very nice resteraunt and bar, meeting room was fine and food served for our business conference was excellent, especially the desserts!
