“Aurora Hotel”
This is a great value for the money. Wonderful location, good dock with swimming/sunning facilities, a beautiful view, a very helpful, english speaking staff. Close to Bellagio, good access to ferries and busses. The mid lake shuttle ferry is very reasonable for one day and you can get on and off at several mid lake locations. I can't post specific rates, but it was under 15 euros in June of 2011. I highly recommend this ferry service if you want a good overview of the central lake region. Way better than driving and trying to find parking. The breakfast that is included with the room is way better than the usual plastic wrapped fare. Fresh fruit, inluding strawberries, kiwi and the more usual fare, fresh baked pastries of various kinds, meats and cheese. Hard to beat for the price. I would go back in a heartbeat.
“Beautiful Escape”
My husband and I did a whirlwind trip of Italy and stayed here on our first evening. We were looking for a nice place to stay without breaking the bank at some of the more famous hotels. It was beautiful and really exceeded our expectations - just what we needed to pick us up after our long day of traveling. Everyone was very kind. The restaurant was good (although they didn't serve their pizza dishes for lunch). And the scenery was unbeatable. I would highly recommend it, especially if you can stay in one of the newer villas.
“loved being here”
when we arrived the views were magic. the longer we stayed the more we wanted to stay .very easy to do nothing or lots of things to keep you busy the lake is wonderful and very easy to get around
“Superb Honeymoon Destination!”
We came to the Hotel Aurora as part of our honeymoon, after three days in Venice. It was just unbelievable. The room was outstanding (was in one of the superior suites in the separate block). The view was out of this world. We literally couldn't have picked a better place. The food in the restaurant was gorgeous. Would highly recommend the pear and gorgonzola ravioli! You simply cannot be disappointed if you come here!
“the best getaway on Lake Como”
We arrived to Hotel Aurora and the ever so nice Margarita, the B & B owner. She was amazing and made us feel right at home. We were visiting Italy for the first time for our 3 week honeymoon and stayed here two nights. We wish it was longer. It was perfectly located off the beaten path, but close enough to Bellagio and other towns more known for their markets, foods, and scene. We were conveniently located next to the boat service to go across the lake to some tourist attractions. They have a convenient restaurant across the small street next to the water. I think her husband and father-in-law are the chef's. we had every type of way you could cook their local lake fish and it was all amazing. They have a dock on the lake for the B & B clients to enjoy. It's amazing to jump in the lake and swim. We drove from Milan, and the B & B was easy to find. Just go up the right side of the lake :) we went up the left side and realized we were on the wrong side. The drive was beautiful, so we were not bummed. The place has free parking so it's great for those touring Italy in a car or other type of vehicle.
“Most wonderful experience”
We were at Hotel Aurora 4 years ago because we wanted the location near Bellagio on Lake Como. Because of the wonderful experience last visit we returned to find many upgrades and the price still very reasonable. Family owned and operated Hotel Aurora make you feel totally at home. Restaurant is so good you don't want to eat anywhere else. We hope to go back in two years.
“Nice Hotel with Excellent Service”
Excellent service. Our room was on the top floor (3rd floor) at the corner ( I requested a quiet corner room) but still had a view of the lake, and the view was amazing. Although if you are facing the lake you will hear traffic because the hotel is on the main road (that goes around Lake Como) so in fact ferries is a major transportation tool in this region as well. Our room was clean, bright and spacious. As I mentioned about the traffic, you may have to close the windows in the night if you don't want the traffic to wake you up early. In spite of this, the service was great. Breakfast was very nice and served in a large beautiful room. The Hotel is in Lezzeno, about 15 minutes drive from Bellagio (the main village), and there's bus service that go to Bellagio where it is the main embarking and disembarking point of the ferries. We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Aurora and I will recommend it.
