“Great for Travellers”

Place is located in a fantastic area. Stones throw to lots of public transit to get to anywhere in London and Camden is a great place. We came to see the Arsenal game and it was an absolute perfect location for this. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Shared bathroom is the only thing that may be iffy but it really is not that big a deal. Would recommend to anyone travelling to London.

“Great clean basic hotel well worth the price”

Great for a cheap London break that's easily accessible to the main sites. Definitely will be recommended.

“Great Place!”

I was staying with my younger sister and my good friend in a triple room! We loved the hotel. Beds were a bit soft but they made up for it with the nice coffee biscuits and tea every day. Transpotation to the center of Londo is very easy and frequent. The staff was very friendly and accomadating to all of our requests. We also really enjoyed the breafasts in the morning with the extra helpful staff. Thanks

“castle barr two night stay 12-14 march 2012”

The staff and facilities were freindly enough and did make us feel welcome and answered all questions we had about the transport links and facilities in the local area. but one of the reasons i booked castle barr in the first place was due to the fact the accomodation was over a pub which served meals as i wanted to use these facilities to limit the amount of traveling we would have to do in a strange place looking for somwhere to eat and drink. Unfortunantely during my stay at the hotel these facilities were not available as they was in the middle of a refurb i feel this should have been previously stated as i WOULD NOT have booked it. The room was comfortable with the facilities stated available but due the old building and wooden framed windows the noise from the road was a constant presence in the room and we could hear other guests watching t.v and moving between the shared facilities i would recomend earplugs if you are a light sleeper. all this being said i would like to visit the place again to see what it is actualy like as i feel we didnt fully experience the hotel at its best. it is as the pictures show a very beautiful building and the tube links are excellent which does make it a good base for all youre requitrements whilst in london.

“Castle Bar”

Excelent for the price. Clean and large room especially for the UK. Inly Negative is the horel is on a very busy corner and traffic noise is constant. That with the Pub down stair would not recommend for people who are looking for peace and solitude.

“Nice little budget place, clean, superb value”

Single room was small, but spotless with all new furnishings and good, comfortable bed and even a little fridge, iron and ironing board. Short walk from the tube (one stop from kings cross), decent free wifi. I just had a quick breakfast but I got nice fruit salad, cereal, and juice- not gourmet but quite reasonable. Overall, I had a good stay, would go back, and would recommend it for people on a budget. Not fancy but a solid place to sleep. There was also a large kitchen that I think guests can use. Staff are friendly and laid back.

“Castle Bar, London.”

The staff were lovely, so this is hard, but one has to be honest! The two bedrooms booked were ok in as much as cleanliness goes, although a couple of duvet covers were stained with what either looked like make up or blood!.... I'm sure they were clean and just something that wouldn't come out in the wash, but if I was the owner, I'm afraid I would have binned them. The shared bathroom on the floor I was on was nicely decorated, although the wash hand basin was tiny and didn't have a plug. It would have benefitted from paper towels or a hand dryer, as every time we needed the loo, we had to remember to take a towel so we could dry our hands after we washed them. There was no hot water in the other bathroom, and also no plug in one of the others I was told. I was also told that the shower wasn't very clean in the first floor bathroom. On the way upstairs to the bedroom, the building was pretty grotty, with a leak in the ceiling and a plastic pipe running down the wall. It seemed part of the plaster was coming off. No explanation was made that they were experiencing problems, or possibly refurbishing?? I've no idea, as some parts seemed ok and others were clearly not. The bar where we had a drink before we checked in was quite nice, but didn't serve coffee. The breakfast the following morning was tasty, the service was efficient and the eating area was nice, however, the food was a little on the cold side. The stay was comfortable, but improvements needed. :)

“Good value, comfortable, friendly.”

The hotel is above the Castle Bar which is undergoing extensive renovations. The staff were friendly and tried to deal with the few little problems we found. The room was large and comfortable. The shared bathroom was no problem. Noise was mentioned by other reviewers so we were prepared; the traffic was loud but acceptable given the situation of the property. We had a climb of 46 steps to our room, so potential guests should beware that as we weren't on the top floor, you need to be relatively fit as there is no lift. Overall, it was good value and we would be happy to stay there again.
