“good weekend”
excellent did not eat in so cannot comment on food, gym is good
“Great days in the U.K.”
Check in was quick and efficient. The room was exactly what I requested, each day the staff made sure my room was cleaned, bed made an generally took care of all my needs. The breakfast was excellent and priced fairly even though I did not include this on my initial request. Checking out was quick an accurate. I love the fact Thai it is very close to Paddington Station & the Heathrow Express train to Heathrow Airport. Cudos for having a Costa Coffee in the lobby. Every staff person I dealt with was knowledgable of how to get around whether it was bus, trai, or subway and familiar with all locations in the city. This is my fourth stay at this hotel and I will continue to use it as long as it continues to provide this level of service. Keep up the good work.
“Could not Recommend more highly”
Great personel, very clean rooms, nice space and good amenities. The spacing of the rooms in 2 towers is a little strange at first but one gets used to it. The sports bar had great people and was accomodating to a Final Four basketball fan even thought there were rugby and football fans in the room. Concierge was very helpful as was the HHonors desk.
“Family Friendly”
Fantastic experience for a city center hotel. Late breakfasts and checkouts flexible to your needs. Good facilities pool and gym, would be good to see it open earlier though. The best thing was the friendly and helpful staff in all departments. Check hotels own rates to compare before booking.
“good starting point hotel...”
the only good part of the location is that it is walking distants from paddington train station which is the final stop to get to london from heathrow airport via train. the hotel it's self overall is very good. but is far from major sites of london. good for short stays.
“Great Hotel”
The hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay in London, there is a great Italian place around the corner for dinner and plenty of places nearby for other meals. Everything seemed to operate smoothly in the hotel and al staff members were helpful and friendly. The pool was nice and the fitness club was great. The pool hours could be extended on weekends as it should be open to 9 or 10 pm. Just as an FYI, there is a parking charge of 25 GBP on weekends and 35 GBP for weekdays (every 24 hours) in a secured lot. We were very pleased with our stay.
“Just right!”
This hotel is very convenient, clean, and comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. Purchase it with the room. The lounge does not serve outsiders after 11 pm so it is quiet and congenial in the late evening.
“Close to the tube”
We vacationed here from June 19 - June 25, 2010. We liked that the tube (subway) was very close. The room was very nice with new towels everyday and maid service. We enjoyed the 20th floor. The breakfast buffet was good but crowded at times. The hotel is very big and has 3 towers. There is a mix of business people and 'holiday' people. The only thing we felt was a problem is there wasn't enough restaurants in walking distance. We did go to Caffe' Uno and enjoyed an Italian dinner. We had dinner at the hotel the first night and it was satisfactory to us but we didn't want to dress up every night. There is a grocery store down the street for beer and snacks. We used the indoor pool a few times and it was good. The Conceirge was helpful. We are enjoyed our stay here at the Hilton London Metropole.
“loved the experience”
myself and 5 friends stayed in two quad rooms, which were very spacious and clean, views over london were fantastic. i had never stayed in such a large hotel and thought it might be a bit impersonal, but the friendliness of all the staff changed my opinion. very centrally located, we could walk to a lot of the attractions
“Centre for everything to do in London”
An excellent base to stay if you want to 'do' London - being on the central line it got you everywhere with 2 tube stations being within minutes of the hotel. Front desk could direct you anywhere with directions in seconds - excellent service.Resturant staff were very good and nothing to much trouble. Pool an excellent perk although got a bit crowded with lane swimming and a lane out for swimming,
