“Upgraded”
We arrived at the hotel and had previously booked a non-smoking room, however, they did not have any non-smoking rooms clean when we arrived. They upgraded us to one of the suites overlooking Hyde Park for free because of the trouble with the room we had booked. Would definitely stay here again next time I am in London.
“Great hotel , Great location”
Large rooms compared to London standards. Well maintained. Great Location, 1 minute walk to Tubetation (Lancaster Gate - Central line). Concierge was great. They helped us find Theatre tickets and rent bikes so we could take a nice stroll through Hyde park.
“Excellent hotel- convenient location”
My only issue was that the bath did not drain properly- that excepted, it was an excellent experience. I was very satisfied.
“"!"”
Expedia.com sent me an email with a heading "London Hotel Rates you can't pass up" or words to that effect. This was simply a GREAT deal for a GREAT hotel. We booked an Executive Twin, City View and wound up on the 16th floor in a corner room. And the rates were really a great savings! We had comfortable beds, a sofa, a desk and chair and a total of 6 windows in the room!!! Plus a flat screen TV, tea, coffee and cookies, a fridge, a safe and a very spacious marble bathroom with separate shower, bath tub, toilet, bidet and vanity style sink. The views were spectacular - we even got a park view since we were in a corner room! The location could not have been better - a half block from the Lancaster Gate tube stop and right across from Hyde Park. A less than 5 minute walk from Paddington Station, too. Only negatives were breakfast prices at hotel and cost of WiFi. There was a nice cafe right across the street with reasonably priced breakfast options. The Swan Pub and Duke of Kendall Pub were also good choices for food and drink in the neighborhood. I would definitely return to the Lancaster London!
“Will use the same hotel next time too”
Lancaster London is only about 25 minutes from Heathrow Airport (15 minutes on the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station + 5 minutes from Paddington Station) and is therfore very convenient to access.
“good place to stay in London”
The location is excellent. It is within walking distance from Padington Station.Enterance to underground is around the corner & bus stop is cross the street. Hotel is very clean and comfortable. The personel are very helpfull and knowledgable.A five minutes Taxi ride will take you to the other side of Hyde Park. We had an enjoyable stay in spit of underground strike!!
“ONe of the best hotel in London.”
I will come back to stay there again.
“Great location and excellent service”
I stayed at the Royal Lancaster for 6 nights on a business trip. Great location - right on top of Lancaster Gate Underground and only a 5 minute walk from Paddington Station which is a direct connection to Heathrow. Staff were extremely helpful, particularly the concierge. Restaurant The Island is perfect for an afterwork drink as well as great food - this has a street frontage as well so you really don't feel like you are eating in the hotel dining room! I would definitely stay there again.
“Great location”
Can't fault this hotel for value and service, will go back every time I stay in London.
“Very nice Hotel”
We recently stayed at the Lancaster for a weekend break. Although the main part of the Hotel looks like a very boring block of flats on the outside, we were surprised to find how modern and clean it was on the inside. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the condition of the bedroom was excellent. One moan was that the 'double' bed was actually two singles pushed together, with the very annoying gap between them, but that did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. The Hotel is ideally situated, being close to Paddington station (10 min walk max), has an underground station directly below it at the rear (Lancaster Gate) and is right opposite Hyde Park. The food was rather expensive, but there are plenty of places to eat close by (A good 'Indian' just across the road for example). I would certainly recommend the Hotel and is somewhere I would have no hesitation in using on a future visit
