“Great, Central Hotel!”
We absolutely loved our stay at One Aldwych. We had an executive King room and found it just large enough to be acceptable (by American standards). The lobby bar was at the same time lively and relaxed, the gym was clean and modern and the pool was maybe our favorite indoor pool of all time- awesome!! The people working at the hotel could not have been more friendly or helpful, and the location was absolutely central to everything!!!!!!!!!!
“One of the London's Best Hotels”
Pros: Perfect location. Very nice and comfy room, lobby, lifts... Great bed, really comfy. Big, comfy and very functional bathroom. Housekeeping make up the room twice every day. Very kind and nice staff at reception desk. Impressive pool. Cons: The high efficiency water flush device at toilet and sinks is really too noisy.
“Great Location - but very expensive”
Really nice hotel, great location 1 block from river and on major bus line (15) for sightseeing, but also really expensive (deluxe room was nice but relatively small by US standards and yet also very, very expensive by US standards eand even JP standards - trip taken in October 2010).
“Will Definitely Return”
Although my flight arrived very early and I didn't request an early check-in, the staff happily received me, and after one coffee in the lounge, I checked in very quickly. The hotel was clean, well-kept, and the staff were very pleasant. The lounge is bustling and seems to be a popular place for people to meet in the evenings. As a jogger, I particularly enjoyed the gym, which was also well maintained. One Aldwych is in a great location for seeing the sights of London. The neighborhood is very lively and there are lots of restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops nearby. I will definitely return the next time I am in London.
“Excellent choice for a stay in London”
Beautiful hotel! Very comfy hotel, loved the bed. It was also in a great location for simply walking to the West End theaters, watching some great plays, and then just being able to walk back to my temporary home.
“Best gym, swimming pool, morning coffee in the lobby”
Their gym is small but has all that you need and you can go at any time since your key gives you 24 hour access. The pool is wonderful but doesn't open until 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on weekends. Be better if they opened it earlier. They have coffee, orange juice early in the morning on weekdays. Nice touch. I'd also have available on the weekends. They serve wonderful chocolates after you've been there for three/four days. Be nice to have two or so every night. They also serve fresh fruit, but it's hit or miss. The apples were mealy and the plums past their prime. Nice touch, but watch the quality
“Highly Recommended!”
I think One Aldwych has pretty much spoiled us for all of our future hotel experiences. The service we received was thoughtful and thorough. The hotel itself was lovely and our room was comfortable and well-appointed. We will definitely be back.
“London Hotel - Very nice and up to American Standards.”
This hotel comes highly recommended. I will stay there again on my next trips to London as the location for my meeting was perfect. Hotels in Europe aren't as standard as ones in the US...this one was. Excellent concierge and staff!
“Best Hotel Near London Theatre District”
I highly recommend this hotel. The room was extremely comfortable and service was excellent. The indoor swimming pool was great for light exercise to help with jet lag and offer relaxation after long overseas flight. Hotel is within walking distance of Covent Garden and many theatres and restaurants, including Simpson's where we had wonderful traditional English breakfast one morning. It was an ideal location for me and my wife. I would definitely stay there again.
“Smart Hotel, close to Covent Garden Opera House”
Very smart hotel. Rooms make good use of small space. We had hoped to swim in the pool but they now have a £30 charge per person which we thought was a bit steep for guests of the hotel. Can't remember having to pay last time we stayed.
