“Excellent location”
Excellent location - the tube station is just across the road and there are many restaurants and shops surrounding the hotel. Kensington Park is just at the end of the street.
“small but comfortable.”
the hotel is conveniently located one block away from the tube, somewhat unnoticable with just a small door between two chinese restaurants. Staff was polite. don't expect more than one room key and there is no elevator. the rooms are recently updated with modern ikea-like furniture and are small, but are just fine for vacation. make sure to bring your own shampoo, soap and face towels, as they are not provided. it is a very affordable, no-frills hotel, but found the rooms to be very comfortable.
“Overall satisfactory”
Staff was polite but there were really hard renovation and building work in the room next door.
“not bad”
The hotel was in a great location, easy access to two tube stations, shopping, parks, etc... The room itself was tiny! I was sharing the room with my boyfriend and we both couldn't be up at the same time (that's how small it was), other than the size of the room and the loud street below us...it was a decent and clean place to rest for a few days. (Although the receptionists weren't too helpful)
“Better than a Hostel”
The room was fine, a little small for 2 twin beds. Two people are constantly tripping over each other or stubbing their toes. It is tough to move around in such close quarters. They have a luggage closet (secure) because the rooms are not big enought for people and luggage. The room did not have a phone as stated on the web page and it did not have an alarm clock. If you need they will give a wake up call by banging on your door. If you are an ealier riser, before 8am, you can have hot water. After 9am you are out of luck. The room was clean and the cafe area was nice. It is more like a dorm room than a hotel. A dorm room is larger. The common areas, like the hallways need to be updated. I could hear some of my more loud / inconsiderate neighbors but it wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews stated. I slept fine. I stay somewhere different every time I visit London. This wasn't as nice as some of the better hotels but for the price it wasn't bad. If your on a budget, there are a lot of worst places. I wouldn't recommend it for families.
“ok”
It is OK but in London the conditions are a bit 'spartan'. Forget your idea about the 'stars' and you'll be happy to have a nice room to sleep in decent conditions (1*). The staff is nice and I have no complain. For me it's OK.
“I wouldn't go back.”
The hotel was under construction. The staff were all foreign (ie. Not British) and hard to understand when you could actually talk to them. The vast majority of their time was spent talking on their cell phones. The rooms were not overly clean, and extremely tiny. The free breakfast was very poor. The only good thing about this hotel is it's convenient location near bayswater station and Hyde Park.
“Shabby and grubby”
The hotel was a budget price and my expectations were pretty low but even so I was disappointed. The room was really shabby with chipped and stained flooring and paintwork and was dirty in places. The reception staff were off hand and rude at times. The continental breakfast consisted of a choice of one cereal (cornflakes) and either a croisant or white toast. Nothing else! The bathroom was miniscule. I'd say it was the smallest one I've ever had in a hotel. There was no plug in the sink and the shower was very temperamental with the hot water often stopping altogether. Having a shave and a shower was almost an ordeal. However, the location was excellent. Very central and right opposite the tube station.
“There is better around”
This was a disappointing place to stay on our last night in London. The staff who welcomed us were great. On checkout, a different staff tried to charge us for leaving our bags. Breakfast is not good, not worth going. There is no lift, only stairs. The room had air conditioning that didn't work.
“more yout hostel than hotel”
the breakfast was limited and only about 6 tables. The room was really small and the showerroom was tiny. It certainly wouldnt be suitable for the larger person I was glad we were only staying for 2 nights. We were allowed to keep our bags there before and after checkout (although after checkout there was a small charge). Location to Tube was good.
