“Academy Hotel London”
I thought the decor of the hotel common areas and lobby was fantastic. I did not have the breakfast because it was very expensive--15 GBP for a full English. My room was comfortable and clean, but it was not as newly decorated as the rest of the hotel, though there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helpful throughout. I thought the location was great and very close to two tube stops. I will definitely stay here again.
“A fair choice”
Everything perfect, except for the inhouse noise (you hear if the neighbour is snoozing) and the vers noisy street of Gover Street
“A good experience”
This hotel delivered good value. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was big and up to North American standards. The only problem was that the front desk did not know how to access voicemail messages. They referred me to the room brochure, which had no information, and took more than an hour to figure out how to retreive messages. Apparently, the system is new, and hopefully they have figure it out by now. The hotel is well located, near the British Museum and walking distance to the Goodge tube stop. There is a Pret a Manger on Goodge that has fresh and healthy sandwiches and salads, and good coffee. The bistro by the hotel has coffee and offers a full breakfast as well as sandwiches. Altogether a pleasant experience.
“The best vacation ever.”
The Academy was a wonderful hotel and the staff was excellent. They were there for your every need. To getting coffee to calling a taxi. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to London. I would stay there again.
“Very nice”
Nice room, excellent location.
“Great location and very helpful staff.”
We had a wonderful experience and would return.
“Excellent”
Its difficult to write a review when virtually everything was so good. the only minor thing was that y request for non-allergenic pillows had been overlooked. However it was promptly rectified. next time I need a room in Central London the Academy will be top of my lit
“Great value. Quiet, calm location, but near it all”
The staff was wonderful and the location was great. The area was quiet and we were a tube stop away from all the action. The hotel and the room was charming. Breakfast was not included and the pillows were oh, so flat. Everything else was just perfect. Exceptional value. I will stay here the next I visit London.
“Was pleasantly suprised”
I chose the Academy because of the fact it was on the same block of where our son was spending his fall semester in London. I had also read great reviews of it, and I agree with all of the positive ones that I read. The hotel is small and personal, with a wondeful attentive staff who would inquire everyday if there was anything that we needed. The room was beautifully appointed with everything that you could possibly need. We had a lovely sitting room/library across the hall from our room that led out to a wonderful garden. The area is great, the British Museum is a short block away and the tube is two blocks. We walked all over town. Although the room was much smaller than US hotels, the service was so much nicer. I cannot imagine coming back to London and staying anywhere else.
“Very impressed”
This hotel is was very comfy. I enjoyed my stay there very much. The workers of the hotel are very attentive and very friendly. They make you feel right at home.
