“Wonderful Service, in a great hotel.”
I only stayed for 1 night on business and chose The Goring because of the location. This is the first time I have been there although stayed in most of the top London hotels over the years. The service was discreet but first class, the room was not the largest but quiet, very comfortable and well appointed. It will definitely be top of my list the next time I stay in London.
“Fantastic”
From the moment you walk through the door you feel at home. Lovely hotel, great rooms, excellent service and you can rub shoulders with the rich and famous.
“Will return”
My wife & I stayed at the Goring recently on our first trip to London & we were impressed with the service & condition of the property. The location was perfect & the staff was efficient & helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we return.
“top-end luxury - worth it if you can afford it!”
Unlike many hotels we have encountered, this one seems to be staffed by people who have been intensively trained to be helpful, but who nevertheless contrive to be helpful in a genuine, personable and relaxed manner. The whole experience was positive - from our arrival and welcome by the commissionaire (is that what they call a doorman these days?) to the attention of the concierge and reception staff. Breakfast was expensive, but well served and of good quality, and the room itself was luxury personified. If you are sight-seeing in the Buckingham Palace and Westminster area - or attending a performance in one of the Victoria Theatres (Apollo or Palace) this place is ideal - and it's close to Victoria Station (tube and overground services) too. Expensive, yes - but worth every penny!
“A lovely smaller hotel”
The Goring is a smaller, yet very lovely hotel in a great part of London. owned by the family for over 100 years, the quality of service is first-rate and warm. The rooms are fine, if a bit on the small side, and the dining room is first rate. Overall, this is a fine choice that won't break the bank.
“Great Service with Personality”
The Goring took great pride in their personal service, from the doorman to the staff. If we had a request it was taken care of quickly. Lots of restaurants near by. My family and I were very satisfied with the Hotel.
“Everyone should stay here while in london !!!!”
we could not be happier that we took advantage of this flight/hotel deal from expedia! the goring is staffed by exceptionally competent, professional caring individuals. our room was extremely bright and cheery, and the bathroom was even equipped with a towel warmer.....a small luxury that made us feel divine! the location is perfect-steps from victoria station (tube and train), buckingham palace and the royal mews, AND theaters & restaurants- the concierge even arranged for us to get tickets to see 'billy elliott' the very same evening-excellent seats to boot! i highly recommend the goring to anyone staying in london-even families with children. we will definitley be staying there again.
“Absolutely the Best”
Excellent in all ways - rooms, food, services. All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Would not hesitate to return and to recommend it to others. Location is perfect, setting is beautiful. We had a wonderful stay!
“Wonderful personal touch”
The Goring is one of those small luxury hotels that have the personal touch that a larger hotel cannot give. The accomodations are lovely and the staff is very helpful. The concierge was helpful with dinner reservations, train tickets, and all kinds of information. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast there each morning. Afternoon tea was delightful as well. The location is great for walking to a number of places of interest for tourists. When we return to London we will most certainly stay at The Goring.
“We are already planning a return trip”
I have traveled a great deal over the last fifteen years and have generally stayed in large well appointed if rather impersonal hotels. This is a 71 room family owned hotel. It is what one would imagine to be quintessentially English. In short our stay was wonderful. The staff were knowledgeable, patient, helpful and always courteous. In many ways our experience with this hotel and their staff made our trip even more memorable.
