“Fantastic location”

The location is so central, just 2 minutes walk from Leicester Square, 5 mins walk from Piccadilly tube station. London tour buses stop outside the hotel too. Everything is within 10 mins walking distance. Hotel was lovely, room was clean and hotel was tidy.

enjoyed a pleasent overnight stay virtually next door to the theatre that we had booked to see a show.

The Thistle Piccadily is a very nice older hotel in a great location. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff is excellent. We stayed six nights and will most likely stay there again on our next trip to London. If you like old world charm and reasonable rates, then this is the hotel for you.

“Recommend with issues”

The Hotel rates an overall high satisfaction rating per the questions asked. However, one major negative for me is the fact that it is in a very noisy area until late into the night. My room overlooked Coventry Street and on Fri & Sat nights I was kept awake until just after 3:00am when the crowds left the area. It may be possible to ask for quiet room where the outside sounds do not filter in and disturb.

Stayed here in June for one night...location was perfect, 2 seconds from tube, short walk to all main attractions. Room was clean and comfortable...was upgraded to a junior suite on arrival by friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more. Would recommend to others.

“Great hotel, great location, friendly staff”

Stayed in August 2008 and very impressed with location, how quiet it was considering the location (we were on the 6th floor) and the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Would definitely stay again, but only at Expedia rates - late booking rates are far too high, even for London.

“Perfect for the Theater”

Great place to stay. Located right next to Leicester Square where you can purchase up to half price theater tickets at TKTS the day of the show for just about anything. Walked from the hotel to each of the shows. Walked one block to Piccadilly Circus to see "The Thirty Nine Steps." Walked one block through China Town to see "Les Miserables." I would recommend upgrading to the King room. Enjoy

“Great location”

Hotel is in a great location, but the street noise goes on all night. Closed windows help. The hotel is near the Leicester Square stop on the Picadilly line, so for 4 pounds you can come in from and go out to Heathrow. You can walk from this hotel to: Tralagar Square and the National Gallery; Westminster, Big Ben and the Parliament; Buckingham Palace and the Britsh Museum and I love to walk when I'm in a new city. You are in the midst of ALL of the live stage theatres and many movie theatres; Chinatown and many other excellent eateries are again, within walking distance. You are two tube stops from Harrods and three from Kings Cross Station (so you can go to Cambridge if you want). You are a few minutes on the tube from the Tower of London. The only downside is that it is not really a business hotel, but it's great for a vacation. The noise on the street truly goes on all night, beyond 3 a.m., but if the windows are closed there is no problem and my room looked over Coventry Street where all the people were.
