I've only stayed in the renovated rooms and they are great. The beds are very comfortable. The hall could have used a good sweeping but the bathroom was clean.

“Great Rates!! Great Location!!!”
My girlfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway near the beach. We live in Las Vegas and one of the things she wanted to do was spend time at the beach and to go shopping downtown. The Crowne Plaza turned out to be an excellent location. it was close to I-405 (San Diego Freeway) which easily connected to other major arteries in the Los Angeles area. Also, we were a short 10-15 minute car ride from Venice Beach. This location worked out great. The room was very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We were very satisfied with our stay and the staff was very pleasant. For traveler's that are extremely picky, the only two things they may have a problem with is 1) the hotel is a little older so the television sets are the standard old tube sets and not the new flat screens that can be found in even more economical hotels. Also, the hotel is located very near LAX airport. This was not a problem for us as we live in the flight path in Las Vegas, but I can see how this may bother some travelers. Other than that, I would recommend the hotel and will stay there again when visiting LA.

LAX Crown Plaza is a very good hotel for convenience and comfort. We really enjoyed our one night stay when we checked in very late and then left the next morning. Shuttle service is very good and dependable. Room is very clean.
