Property Amenities
Magic Castle Hotel is affiliated with the adjacent Magic Castle, a turn-of-the-century private club for professional and amateur magicians. Guests can make reservations for the club's nightly dinner-and-magic show, open to members and hotel guests only. The club also serves Sunday brunch.
Scenes from 2005's Memoirs of a Geisha were filmed at Yamashiro, the hotel's Cal-Asian restaurant. Built in the early 1900s, the restaurant stands high on a hill overlooking Los Angeles.
A complimentary DVD library is available at the front desk. Guests at this Hollywood hotel also enjoy complimentary access to a large fitness center four blocks away. A computer kiosk in the lobby provides high-speed Internet access (surcharge).
Rooms
The three-story Magic Castle Hotel offers 49 guestrooms and suites, all with complimentary wireless Internet access. Rooms have modern decor with sage tones, wood and steel furnishings, louvered shutters, and carpeted and wood-textured flooring.
Beds feature pillowtop mattresses, down duvets, and down pillows. Desks are paired with ergonomic chairs. DVD players are included, and guests can borrow DVDs from the front desk. Bathrooms feature Turkish cotton robes and Bath Bloomers botanical products. Coffeemakers brew Wolfgang Puck coffee.

A complimentary Continental breakfast is provided each morning. The breakfast includes Wolfgang Puck coffee, fresh fruit, cereal, juices, and freshly baked pastries, such as scones and croissants, from Susina Bakery & Café, a local favorite.
Complimentary afternoon refreshments include a seasonal beverage, homemade truffles, and cookies.
Yamashiro - California/Asian cuisine, sushi, seafood, and steak. Hilltop location behind the hotel, with views of Los Angeles. Scenes from Memoirs of a Geisha were filmed here. Open for dinner daily.
Recreation
Open 24 hours a day, the small outdoor pool is located in a courtyard with lounge chairs and tables. Refreshing misters, popsicles, and chilled washcloths are offered poolside during the summer.
The hotel offers complimentary use of a fitness center four blocks away. The fitness center includes cardiovascular machines, resistance machines, free weights, and fitness classes (surcharge for classes). Dog-friendly Runyon Canyon Park, a half-mile from the hotel, has paved trails with scenic views. Griffith Park, three miles away, offers trails, horse and bike rentals, a golf course, tennis courts, and picnic areas on its 4,100 acres.
The dinner-and-magic show is open to guests of the hotel and members only. A $15 cover is charged at the door, in addition to the cost of dinner. Reservations are required; men are required to wear a jacket and tie.

“Birthday”
When they found out it was my ten year old grand-daughter's birthday, the delivered balloons and a gift bag to the room for her with had card signed by the hotel staff. Very nice stay.
“great service and location”
Fantastic service and staff (Ricky and co) go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Add in the free snacks, continental breakfast and the great Hollywood location you will be glad you chose the magic castle.
“Loved it.”
We loved our stay at Magic Castle. It is very close to the action and nicely renovated. The staff had no problem accommodating our early check in and went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. I highly recommend room 225 if it is available. It is like having your own quiet apartment in the heart of Hollywood. We will be back!
“Review of Magic Castle Hotel in Hollywood”
We were given a refurbished apartment and it was so spacious. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good position for Hollywood. The breakfasts in the morning are plentiful and you can have as much as you like in the comfort of your own room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Recently spent two wonderful vacation days at the Magic Castle Hotel in Hollywood. As a frequent business traveller I've been fortunate to stay in many 5 Star and Plus hotels around the world. I booked MCH based on great reviews on Trip Advisor. I can now without hestiation add my review to the many who have rated this little gem of a boutique hotel with the highest of ratings. It may not be a "Relais & Chateaux" class of property, and admittedly it's a bit dated/Classic Hollywood throwback in style BUT what it lacks vs the big Cali players is MORE than offset but a team that is 7 Star in their service and genuine attention to their guests needs. From the time we arrived to the moment we (regrettably) had to leave the MCH team made us feel like we were the "Stars"...they were incredibly helpful in making our condensed time in Tinseltown fun, adventerous, and AFFORDABLE. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to be close to the action of Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Strip, etc...but it's far enough removed from the busy intersections and feels very residential in nature. A.M. complimentary buffet breakfasts, and free wi-fi( great signal) access only added to the good times. We'll definitely return for a longer stay. Congrats MCH team-you've got something special-and it shows!
“Top place”
Service was second to none, the staff went beyond our expectations in all requests. I would revisit this property again and recommend it to all.
“Clean hotel with great staff”
The facilities are older than some hotels you may find in the area, but this is more than compensated for by the fantastic service by all staff. We were greeted on arrival with drinks, we arrived at 9am, well before the normal check-in time, but still we could check into our room. The hotel provides free drinks and snacks in addition to the complimentary continental breakfast. We were honeymooners and they happily upgraded our room to a suite. The only disappointment was that we were only staying for one night!
“Great Place to Stay”
We stayed her for 7 nights and the place is fantastic. The staff are great, very accomodating and always helpful. Free snacks and drinks were a bonus.Complimentary breakfast was great. Would definately stay here again. Highly recommended!
“Great value, great service”
The pool is nice, the location is good, it's clean, they provide a nice breakfast and have apples and cucumber water in the lobby in the afternoons. But what makes this hotel superior is the staff - they brought us sparkling lemonade poolside when we arrived, they accommodated my visiting brother and his babies, they answered all our questions cheerfully, gave us great recommendations, and generally made us feel very welcome. This is where I will stay whenever I go to LA. And not only is it walking distance to some great city venues, there's an incredible canyon blocks away where you can hike for miles.
