“Great hotel”
Overall a great hotel, most of the staff spoke english. The indoor pool seem to be never available and the snack bar was sub par. The staff and hotel was great, we would definitely go back again. Nick USA
“Wonderful Anniversay Stay at this Hotel”
We stayed at the Tivoli Ocean Park as we decided to have a quick getaway anniversary. Whilst we were going to go to another city we ended up booking here for the sunshine, walks and excellent service for the price. We had stayed th eyear before so new the hotel. The hotel staff are helpful, the breakfasts enormous and the facilities very good. This is not the same as staying at other large chain hotels but all round I can not fault this hotel. Indeed they even gave us a room upgrade to a suite as it was our return anniversary. Hows that for customer service. Far better than some other placces I have been to.
“Excellent all round”
The hotel is everything you would expect from a 5 star, staff, accomodation, facilities and caring attitude were excellent. Free mini coach to local attractions at regular times and key staff speaking fluent english are just some of the many benefits. Great location, distinct lack of club activity is perfect, no yob youth culture evidenced is fantastic, a truly relaxing quality holiday. I thank the hotel staff, the people of the country (who are the friendliest group of people we have experienced)and Expedia for the opportunity. 10 out of 10.
“First Class and Excellent Value”
I returned last week after a weeks stay at this hotel with our two teenage children. The hotel was exactly as described on the website, facilities, service and food were excellent, the position of the hotel really good.On reviewing our weeks eating both in and out we should have stayed in the hotel all week and not ventured out to local restaurants - we would have had an infinitely better result! Value for money in the package from expedia was top rate. Well done to the Management and staff of the Tivoli Ocean Park I would definitely stay again and recommend it to my friends.Worth mentioning is that there is likely to be some building work on the funchal side of the hotel over the next year? which might influence choice of rooms - those overlooking pool and Western side are likely to be best - worth checking with hotel as to the state of building works when you want to stay - site was being enclosed and cleared last week and little noise.
“Excellent Hotel”
This is a really comfortable and quiet hotel. The rooms are all good sizes, and very clean. The sea views are stunning. All the staff very friendly. Food when we ate at the hotel restaurants was very good....but there are several very good retaurants very close...slightly cheaper. If you want to stay fit, there is a good gym. The pools are immaculate.
“Can't wait to return”
Highly recommend using expedia to book your holiday,
“An Excellent Hotel in a Superb Location.”
Have just spent five nights in the Tivoli hotel in Funchal. All in all it is a very good hotel with above average levels of service. Our visit in October saw good warm sunshine (about 26 degrees C) and the hotel was not crowded. The rooms are reasonably large and have good facilities. The hotel is mainly used by older people so whilst there were a few children around it had a nice quiet atmosphere and the corridors were very quiet at night. There is building work going on around the hotel, but it is not intrusive or noisy. The breakfasts are definitely worth getting up for, but since breakfast runs from 7:30 to 10:30 there should be no problem. If you hire a car the hotel has a basement car park which you can use. There are however plenty of taxis about as the walk into the centre of Funchal can be a bit challenging.
“A comfortable and enjoyable stay”
Hotel was fairly easy to find, had a rental car so appreciated private undercover car park in basement. Reception were very friendly, excellent english, they took our bags to room which was nice. Room very spacey, comfortable and clean, excellent bathroom, had a suite to good extra lounge space, great views from balcony. Decor good except balcony a little 'tired' but not a problem. Lights a little dim as all 'low energy' bulbs but thats being picky! Facilities were great, lovely pool and sauna areas, even table tennis. Breakfast was a plus with both continental and english options. Didnt use restaurant as many better priced alternatives within 100m. Took our own tea bags/coffee as advised and didnt use mini bar, though fridge was useful for our own stuff. Free shuttle to and from Funchal was very useful and always on time. Nice local promenade strolls too. All in all great hotel and good location
“ecelleence”
an excellent hotel in every way -nothing whatever to grumble at
“tops on my list!”
a timeshare hotel and well worth listening to the sales pitch... dinner special at 90 euro for 3 meals with drinks is a steal! excellent 3 restaurants
